I am in US most of the malls are closing I think most people do online shopping ,or outlet malls , rich go to special boutique, or high end shops , I always find 99 % stuff in malls are useless now most of the things don’t last they want you to buy again and again same thing . Please buy cotton , natural fabric india is blessed with natural resources take care of it ……don’t buy synthetic, toxic dye , embllishment …it causes pollution of our river , soil …..Use cotton , natural fabric , wool, jute recycle it ….i remember earlier real wool lasted so long i had worn my sister friend child hood wool vest it was 20 yr old and was still good ….

My point was people are giving more preferences to the glitz and glamour of the wedding and celebration only, but the bond, love and relationship between two people in marriages are quite neglected. No matter if bride and groom are mental and emotionally connected, but the show off and undue spending become priority just for the social validations.

Vivek bhai..this is my opinion. Hindu weddings started getting crazy from the 90's. Bollywood started with this. Showing grand weddings with flowers and what not. I am in complete agreement with you on the waste on ostentatious weddings where money needs to be borrowed or in conditions leading to bankruptcy . Otherwise , in most marriages in India the rituals are followed pretty strictly . Different regions in Bharat have different wedding rituals , and a few of these rituals , namely Mehendi and Sangeet have become universal . Waste of food is much of a shame , which can easily corrected .
