Cosmetic formulator here, i agree with everything you said , just the bar soap vs body wash, there are some body washes that the surfactants used are so gentle that a pre cleanse bar soap is necessary while some body washes that uses good anionic surfactants like AOS 40, SLES in the right quantity wouldn’t need a pre cleanse bar soap. And also if you’re acne prone and your skin later becomes clear you should still use your paula’s choice to clear your pores 1-2x a week to prevent sudden massive breakouts as acne has no permanent cure but management is key

Eni,I applaud your efforts and research on these skincare routines and products you share on your channel.Kudos to you. I’m a lady in my mid forties with a dry ,brown caramelised skin tone. My go to routine at night is to cleanse my face with cerave hydrating foaming oil cleanser which is gentle,followed by the inkey list Hyaluronic acid serum and then The ordinary lactic 10% + HA lactic acid.Afterwards,sealing it with The Ordinary Moisturiser.This routine has never failed me and my skin looks flawless,hydrated and radiant the following morning. Please note that gentle cleansers should be applied prior to using these chemical exfoliant as they don’t irritate the skin as compared with when I was using La Roche Posay efaclar purifying cleansing gel which seems to be a little bit harsher on my face. Thanks Eni for this information, I recently bought the skin doctor toner because I couldn't get the rosemary toner I used to use, and it burns my face when ever I use it, I checked some reviews about it and some people says it's ok even if it tinkles that after some days of using it, it will stop but it has never stopped, anytime I use it I still get that burning sensation...and it drys my skin when ever I use it, but right now I have gotten back my rosewater toner and right now of watching this video I'm going to throw it away....never to use it again..
