If there's one thing I think the spectator mode of AoM retold needs, it's colored boxes on the minimap denoting the players screens so we can see where they're focused. Would be a great way to see if people forget about units or are macroing or microing. Also to answer your question about naval myth units, you can build more of them, you get one for free alongside the land unit when you age up if the minor god has one. Unlike land myth units, naval myth units are just trained at the docks. Naval myth units are also incredibly powerful when you get 'em since the only faction with a hero ship is the Greeks, and it's rare for that to get trained, plus it's pretty high tech. There's also an upgrade that boosts normal ships damage vs myth units, but it's researched at the docks. Naturally when you research it, said docks aren't building ships. And the upgrade doesn't make those ships fight better vs other ships, so you put yourself at a unit disadvantage if you go for it.

it will certainly be nerfed, not only the range is absurd, but also the power doesn't make sense to destroy buildings. I missed the clouds it produced too, it was a bit dull on Retold, just this smoke around the screen... however the thunders are very beautiful SFX effect

I think he meant to smite the priest to prevent him from "uuummm-ing" animals. It´s a large part of Set´s early game and overall strategy to convert animals to bring to his town center, so the villagers dont have to spend time walking out on the map, and building new granarys and being exposed to raids. (Not so much on water maps, but still)

I like it very much when you do get excited when u see something unexpected, for example zeus using the gp raping so much army, or unexpected raids etc. sometimes u remember me a UFC fight narration, which i like a lot (the presentation in the beginning is a example of this too, looks like we are entering an octagon, very nice). I didnt see anything i didnt like, congratz once again.

I think Matreiuss intentionally bolted the Priest because so Set can't have a lot of converting for save food in base etc. Also the Pharao probably wasn't hiding, he was empowering the dock to get the dock fast i think. Think about the scout potencial of the converted animals and harrassment of a couple of boars denying the dock at the secondary water side.

Judging by the way Scylla willingly grew her heads, she had undergone a rework. Now her ability increases damage and builds up additional heads not from destroying enemies, but from dealing damage to them. And this same rework also applies to Hydras, which open when choosing Dionysus.

@@Yodesla I think you not being able to find medusa is made it better more natural also i think noone could spot her easily. In addition that sea fight part with the seahydra was top casting xD. I love these players too, that helps also :D Maybe one thing that comes to my mind is that you can spot some villager raids earlier or spot more raids since it gives a sense of depth for early game. Late game casting and you being able to catch god powers was enough for me tho i think most would agree. Sorry for my bad english :)

Thanks for a fun and passionate cast! One point of feedback i have is that you exclusively narrate combat and spectacle as play by play, but there’s very little focus on economic and tech choices and build orders. For instance in the first two ages, you hardly talked about the choices that had been made on land that were powering the naval battle. You also generally didn’t talk much about strategy in god choices and tech timings. I think that as you try to develop more skill as a color commentator, you’ll also find yourself having to make choices about when to pause and reflect on macro choices, and you’ll be forced to prioritize which play by plays are truly worth narrating in lieu of describing the game’s strategic narrative. I get that stuff requires more game knowledge than the combat play by play, so I hope you’re able to find good guidance and advice on that front. In my view, the chess and execution of build orders is the most interesting part of playing an rts and the part that goes the furthest in making me a better player. In the meantime, I’m glad you’re a very energetic play by play caster! Best wishes 😊

I should be caught up on knowledge by the time the game launches. As for "pausing" to talk about choices. I feel like that will ruin the flow of the cast. However I will definitely stary talking about the strategies more as well as the choices and builds! Ill just do it fast and clearly that way we dont have to pause! I really appreciate the feedback!

@@Yodesla i don’t mean pausing the game, I mean having color commentary in between your very high intensity play by play commentary In this game, it would be things like taking a break from nonstop talking about the trireme action to instead talk about classical age builds and resource allocation. We know that particular action is going to be going in the entire classical age, and it’s usually not that interesting until it nears its conclusion. For a good example, watch a tasteless/artosis gsl cast, or one from tasteless/state.

At first, using Lightning God Power felt like cheating. His repeated use made me want red to win. Despite all those god powers, I was happy that red won. Otherwise, it would be a situation like "whoever uses god power wins".
