Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly". This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonata, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace. The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and gave his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself. The classic music piece is globally famous and there were many different translations into different songs, with different music compositions, mostly operatic, and different lyrics (the band Renaissance, Daniele Licari, Sarah Brightman and Sissel Kyrkjebo for instance). But the most famous version, by far, is Lara’s version: it was translated into a pop song for her, she wrote lyrics in italian then co-wrote the english lyrics for it and is the original performer of these 2 versions. She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration. This song has become a classic and has been covered by many : Shirley Bassey (!!), Dimash (Lara is his absolute idol and he covered several of her songs), Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Julie Anne San Jose, Giulia Falcone, Laura Bretan, Il Divo, Rimar, Vitas, Anastasia Luna, Evgenia Fanfara, , … They made great covers but none of these match the amazing storytelling performance of Lara, or her ability to use vocal subtleties to be in sync with the music, exposed in her live from the concert From Lara with Love. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKLShGCBhLGJlZY Her italian version is also amazing. A famous italian version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5eaqZaDg5KHj6s Or you can check her recent excellent renditions: - in Paris early october 2022 kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKbPmKt_Yp2toJY - In Tbilissi Georgia in april 2023 kzbin.info/www/bejne/iH63YWeVor1nmqcsi=jzIpgs_LdgX1ZjSV

In my opinion, the most beautiful and spectacular interpretation of this wonderful song belongs to Laura Bretan because her natural voice has a strong classical touch and can transform a song into a vocal symphony ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqLafXeCh9GHl7M ). It should be mentioned that the song Adagio was based on the musical scores of the Italian Baroque/Neo-Baroque composer Tomaso Albinoni. The song Adagio sung in a purely pop style loses its essence and becomes something common, without personality.

Es una voz única es 100 mil veces mejor que Lara Fabian y muchísimo mejor que todas esas cantantes de renombre

does she have smooth breaks between chest voice and falsetto? I can hear her voice break very often. Do you agree?

Just a suggestion... Make your images smaller and the clip of the artist bigger. That tiny stretched out video clip is very odd with your personal images so large.

Imo it can’t be compared to Lara Fabian singing it, she’s the best😊
@Irina_Savenkova10 ай бұрын
@@lillm6874 Nobody compares. I really like both versions. And I love Dimash and Lara very much. They sang this song differently, but with the same passion... Dimash always tries to do his own versions of covers and never tries to "out-sing" other singers.
