@@kcnl2522 I would say it’s part of the fun. But in 15 years no one has ever said “hey you’re in Tech, let me hire you for consulting ”. More common is, “hey my relative is in Technology, they can fix my computer” lol.

Keeping up at your main job is a benefit, although there is a lot more value than just that one result. As for the comment about never being hired to consult, I have had that happen so often that I raised my rates multiple times just to keep people away. It all depends on who you know, how you present yourself, and if people know where to find you.

You are a wise man, Mr. Corey! Thank you for sharing these ideas. I find them really interesting at least to try once. Trying things out, from my experience: - I tried Fiverr doing Photoshop editing for a while and I figured out it's not for me, but I still made about $100 😁. - I tried and still do sell photography for image stock websites -> that was fun and I don't have to be active in doing it, they will sell in time eventually. - I have a musical project and a few songs already on Spotify and other platforms, so I am earning probably a few bucks per month, but it's just fun. Doesn't have to be active. So most probably I could start maybe helping others or creating small apps on Fiverr (I will search for other platforms as alternatives, probably). Good luck to everybody and I hope you will have fun as well!

Side hustles started my career while in school. I learnt a lot from the side hustles than I could ever learn from school. They help you network and gain experience.

Unless you own the company, your job is at risk. 2 weeks before being laid off I had positive performanve reviews and was coding a mission critical software.

You should always be planning for the future, which includes planning on how to move between jobs. Even if you don't get laid off, there may be circumstances that come up that necessitate a move.
