Thanks @rholland3rd I've never had a need to remove the rear bumper cover. The risk of me breaking clips and regretting making a video... to make a video would set in. If I had some damage to the cover I would do a remove and replace video. Hint: There are a couple locking pins in the wheel well. There are also some along the side that you would need a trim tool to remove. Then the last part would be getting the top center tabs to release.

I'm confused about the tail light/break light. Is it one bulb. I was at a tire place and they said my break light was out and was going to replace it and they forgot. I have the same bulbs on hand from my other Subaru. From what I can figure they are the white bulbs. I haven't taken out the back light unit yet. I've done this to my other Subaru. The bottom section is the yellow portion, but the lights are on. I had to put a brick on the break because I don't have anyone to help. Both bottom yellow lights were lit. Anyone care to run this by me. Thanks.
@IamWedge2 жыл бұрын
The tail light/brake light is one bulb. It is a two filament bulb. One is on when you have the lights on and when the brake pedal is depressed... it activates the second element to brighten that bulb. (Here's a link to show you an older bulb, NOT one used in your Subaru. Just to show what a dual filament looks like.) www.bulbs.com/product/1157B2

Did the brake light bulb work with the headlights on and while pressing the brake pedal? Did you have the electronic flashing relay already installed??
@IamWedge4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the light that is for the brake lights do come on with the head lights on, acting like a marker light. Yes they also come on when the brake pedal is pushed. If you installed LED... try flipping the LED in the socket 180°. It happens. Yes, I also have a video on how to change the flasher relay to the Smart Tap Flasher relay. Hi @dynezxice Nice Catch! I didn't even notice I made that typo. Yes, you are correct the ones I installed were the 210 lumen kit. What color did choose for the side marker lights? Since it’s located in the red part of the housing. Would another color even show through the red plastic? And I’m ordering the LED flasher. But upgrading brake, back up, and side marker lights don’t necessary need the module? Is the flasher module only for signal lights hyperblink fix or you also need it to run LED in general? Great vids by the way!
@IamWedge4 жыл бұрын
The side marker lights in the rear were Side marker light (Red) # DD0030P Lumens = 92 (from Diode Dynamics. The flasher module is for the blinkers. Yes, it fixes the hyper flashing. Hyper flashing happens normally when you lose a light (burned out). With LEDs the voltage draw is lower so the system thinks you have burned out a bulb. As for a different color in the rear markers. I'm sure the red lens would still give it a red like appearance.

@@IamWedge Just the bulb. I tried wiggling and pulling straight out. Then I used force with a tool. Now all I have is wires and glass shards plus a cut finger. Put it back on. I finally found a guy who had the same problem and he used a pic and pliers to get the rest out of the plastic housing. I couldn't even get the main connection out. Seems all old.
