I just replaced the tail light bulb on my 2017 Subaru Forester thanks to your helpful video. It was funny, because the person who came into O'Reilly's right after me needed the same bulb for her 2017 Subaru Forester.

I have an ‘17 forester and both my day time running tail lights are out. But, if I press on the brake, the lights come on. When I went to O’Reillys they said I have to replace the entire unit but this video makes me feel like that’s not true. Anyone know?

@@221MagicMan they said the same to me, you gotta take off the taillight how i did and just replace the bulb, it’s a $13 fix

@@221MagicMan the tail light and the so-called break/stop light are separate. In your case, it is the running red tail light dead, replace it as the video shows. The red break/stop light is another LED bulb nearby.

I was told the whole light unit had to be replaced, I have a 2017 forester too, the light unit is $180-$200 on eBay, it’s only the C red light that’s out, I don’t understand, can a new LED bulb fix?

My 2018 Forester Premium has a screw that holds the tail light bulb in. The screw needs a tool I have never seen before, so I can't get it off. Any help?

The brake lights are LED’s, the running lights are not LED’s.
