Ian Blackford called Boris Johnson a "lame duck" prime minister and likened him to the black knight in Monty Python during his speech at Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday (8 June).
Johnson thanked Blackford for his "characteristic warm words" and said that the SNP leader was the glue keeping the United Kingdom together.
Blackford repeated his calls for the PM to resign, saying that 41 per cent of Tory backbenchers were with him.

Ian Blackford was educated at the Royal High School in Edinburgh and as such, as any who were, is a small god. Blackford like any public schoolboy has a glowing career portfolio and is greatly respected by the Eton schooled Johnson. They're birds of a feather, public school fellows like Mogg and Corbyn.

It's called a general election, be patient, that's how democracy works. We the People are supposed to be in charge, our PMs are not meant to be deposed by internal coups, not democratic. The country voted for Boris as PM, and we must have him until the next GE.
@giansideros
@giansideros 2 жыл бұрын
@@charleswhite758 the country didn't vote for Johnson, more people voted for parties that ran explicitly against the Tories (Labour, Lib Dem, Green, SNP) than those people who voted Tory or parties like UKIP or The Brexit Party. This antiquated anti-democratic rigged system enables the Tories and yes I will still vote Labour at the next election to oust the Tories knowing full well that this system is biased in favour of the Tories. But I won't pretend that this is democratic, it's a farce that the rest of us are held hostage by this minority.

We could not have a service or a wake after so we had a piper leading the car to the graveside and even though we said only 10 could attend I’m proud to say a good 50 or so lined the drive to the cemetery and then all “socially distanced themselves” just a pity our so called leader couldn’t take his own advice For what the tories put my family through I will never ever forgive them I hope each and everyone of them succumb to a slow painful agonising death

My sympathies to you Phil I too lost my father during lockdown. In one of the highest Covid deaths during the Second wave. My two elder brothers were given the opportunity to give him his last rights as a devoted Catholic they would go to heaven without sin. I live in Leicester and they were in Coventry. I had to say goodbye to my father over loudspeaker on my brother phone. One thing I had to say to his nurse was he was going to be a Grandfather again and his youngest son was going to be a father. I had to break to tell my family about the coming new member to ease the pain. My father was buried six weeks later after a high volume of funerals to be with my mum who died in 2001 from years of alcoholism which I was going down that route from my grief of my dad but I have a beautiful boy and a disabled wife to look after and I’m sure my dad would tell me to pick family first. I would be angry and f this and f that over this but I am feeling sad that all of us are enduring a PM who gets a slap on the wrist and we don’t get away with this. I will get over my grief properly when he goes.

The Tories do not care about the NHS or waiting times etc as they want to finish privatizing it and a failing NHS - caused by 12 years of Tory cuts - would offer them the chance to argue that it should be privatized. Only when people find their private health insurance doesn't cover their whole condition will they realize what we have lost. The chance of selling off the rest of the NHS - 25% is already run on private contracts - is what is behind the Tories wanting a US trade deal as the US drug and insurance companies would love that.

@@VolrinSeth That may be, but the house of Commons has always been a rather intimate place where there is very little distance between the opposing parties who are -intentionally, kept a sword's length apart, so it is not as sterile and anodyne as some parliaments, but rather it is a battle ground and always has been and when were you last in a quiet polite battle? The English are a warlike and adversarial people -it is in their blood, and remember that parliament is also known as the high*Court* of parliament. it never was -and never will be, a ladies tea party with everyone being -*-awfully polite*with oneanother, but rather it is is a battle - or testing, ground, designed to test or assay ideas in the heat of exchange. In short it is a human place/institution, and men(human beings)are the slaves of their emotions; they simply cannot help it , as you have discovered in that battleground that is yourself, no doubt. Yes is confronted by No-that is just how it is with men and perhaps all things; predators and prey, beings of the active sex and beings of the passive sex, positively charged and negatively charges, that seems to be the nature of what-***Is*-and-cannot-be different, whatever you call that. Sorry, can you explain why that amuses you? Some people in Scotland are monarchists, some are against the principle of monarchy, and many are indifferent. Although the Tories probably have a higher ratio of monarchists, and the general population probably a lot less favourable to the principle of monarchy in general, it cuts across party lines just as it does in England.

Last century, the word “republican” in the UK media was synonymous with “Irish terrorist”: so a favourite ploy of unionist parties was to try to label the independence movement in Scotland as “republican” and therefore as some sort of quasi-terrorist threat. The response, quite shrewdly, was just to shrug and say that monarchism is neither here nor there as far as being governed by our own government is concerned. It’s a choice Scotland cannot make now, and which it may or may not choose to make some time after independence. As I’m sure you know, England inherited Scotland’s monarch a full century before the two countries signed the Treaty of Union, and (if Scots want) the two can just as easily share a monarch afterwards. (Or not.). Of course, the present royal family is only royal AT ALL because of (a) the Stewart lineage (through a female line) of the Hanoverians, all those German Georges, and (b) their being Protestant. About 50 individuals had a better claim by lineage.

@@martinmcaskill3411 Your post reeks childish ignorance and parochialism. Half of Scotland’s voters voter for independence parties. More than the country’s total football support.
