i love back when musicians didnt care about screwing around on stage like this little riff battle between thornley and his slide guitarist, hilarious and adds so much too the show in terms of being unique. thats why i love music its so universal and its meant to just have fuckin fun you know?

What a ridiculous assemblage of talent! Ian Thornley is easily one of the most talented rock musicians on the planet today, and Andy Wood is just an AMAZING player in his own right!

This performance is so bone chilling. The bass, the guitar, the vocals, the lyrics, the bandmanship. And Ian’s incredible stage presence and talent. I can’t stop watching. There is no greater talent on this planet.

I was sitting there going, "hmm, they sound good." But when he hit the first 2 notes of the solo... my ear went up like a dog's... "WHAAAT?!" Brought back SRV's ghost for this track... incredible.

That's an awesome comment. Love these guys, jealous. Thanks for sharing ☺️
@StratMatt7772 жыл бұрын
@@ElRicoAlbridge It's not actually difficult to imitate SRV. You just have to practice for 3 or 5 years. :) Coming up with your own thing that is interesting.... now that is a bit more complicated! The purpose of this comment is to tell you guys that you can play SRV licks too if you practice- it's not to diminish anyone- especially the best guitar player I know of- Ian! He said that when he was recording this song he was stuck for what to do for the solo and someone in the studio suggested he do SRV stuff and he thought, "Of course!". I love how the steel guitar player smiles after 6:19 when he realizes he just played the Super Mario Brothers video game sound that happens when you go down a tube into the underground!

Apparently you've never seen Devin Townsend. Not throwing any shade at all on Ian, but DT is at another level entirely. Depends on taste and it's all subjective, but Devin Townsend is a show like I've never seen and I know won't see again in my life. Power, energy, and good feels all in one. Literally jaw-dropping if you're into it. That being said, I won't miss the next time Ian Thornley comes home and plays. He needs to work on his vocals because he has an amazing voice. It's one of his strong suits I would say, but it's not shining here.
