I wouldn’t call it a yacht rock classic for one simple reason. There is an unnerving sadness embedded into the music.

Glad I grew up in the 70s and 80s, lnocking on 55, remember when this song hit the radio waves was a 9 year old grade school kid then, remember hearing this great tune on the radio going down the highway with my folks in our 77 Cutlass. Just don't make music nor cars like that anymore sadly. Need a time machine!

In 1979, and 1980, we enjoyed a surge in the abundance of good music. By 1984, the music industry was in decline, 'new' garage bands ceased to exist (with few exceptions, Nirvana being one of the standouts). The world then sank into the routine of being offered, and having mostly homogeneous -sounding, studio produced crap, passed off as being music.

First reconnected with this song in 2005 after not hearing it since it was out... close to 30 years, but I recognized it right away. Of course I didn’t remember the artist name. The sax and that keyboard riff are the most memorable things about this song, although I also really love the bassline, the rhythmatic acoustic strumming, and the cool melody.
