I don't think cutting tax credits, reducing housing benefit, the bedroom tax and the many other cuts made to benefits help the poor. IDS is really talking out of his arse........comparing his daughter (with the many advantages she has) with a poor 19 year old single mother on a council estate....how ridiculous is that..

IMAGINE THAT a man dying with nothing in his stomach in one of the richest countries in the world, a country where billions of profits were shared by the top 1% ........don't be fooled here, watch him fisting the air when EVEN MORE cuts were announced by that flaccid, useless and most ineffective EVER Prime Minister was announcing in parliament, it is a fucking disgrace. Three years too late to the party, but it's still worth pointing out. More tax breaks have been given to the lowest earners under the Conservatives than Labour, both contemporarily and historically. Cameron actually put the top tax rate up whilst increasing the tax-free threshold for low earners. Incentives make up an entire field of economic study, hardly a fallacy.

As Brian May said 'Aspiration' is often talked in terms of money, not in terms of doing good things or being creative. In other words Victorians believed individuals should help themselves but that then gets many off the hook of not having the duty to help at all. I society creates rules then it has to face those rules and the consequences of those economic and societal rule

There is a certain way of helping each individual. We all learnt the harder we work and hold a steady job professional our not. We gain respect and passion in what we do. You don't cut benefits our cut wages and gain respect know matter who you are. We all learnt to walk by the first step and increase our walking by learning what we are capable of. To build a nation we put all the money into our nation not other countries. Charity begins at home.

Trouble is, IDS works for a party which has created mass poverty in this country. He also married for money and lives in a home owned by his father-in-law. He said two separate things: I thought of my own daughter, and then after a bit, I expect people to do most of it themselves. Either he is too stupid to realise that his daughter and the girl from the council estate live in very different worlds in the same country, or he knows that the Tories have deepened poverty quite deliberately and is just mouthing platitudes.

I'm afraid that you are wrong there. He went to a housing estate in a poor part of Glasgow and that's where he did in fact meet a young single mum. It was recorded on film and shown on t v. I can't remember any more specifics but he did do a walkabout on the estate and was shocked at what he saw.

I think as people grow older and wiser they genuinely want to help people but avoid politics as a way of doing this because im sure it must screw with your head, train you how to turn closed question answers into open ones, guides you seamlessly into webs of corruption and finally turns your passions into lies. Mind you does wonders for your acting career and at least youll get a paid appearence on ntn news if you can take the jip.
