That's stupid actually, that's not how he should've sounded here. He didn't need to pretend to be kind at this point. He already had control over Vader and the Empire. When he saw him last in Revenge of the Sith, he was in full Sith form. That's how we see him next in Jedi.

As the young people say, he likes to "troll" (as he did Luke in Return of the Jedi) The menace of it is that both he and Vader know he isn't being kind. He is like a smiling cobra. I think Ian pulled that off well-it is actually more nuanced than a 1-dimensional comic book baddie

Obi Wan series was filmed in LA. Ian lives in Scotland and came only at the Pinewood Studios (where Andor was also filmed). The director can't fly to London just for a minute. That's why by zoom

To the Emperor, the Jedi as a whole were no longer a concern. At that point, they weren't even a priority. They have the Inquisitorious to hunt them: and their effectiveness didn't matter as long as the Jedi are made aware that they are not allowed to live. I would guess that he is already focused on gaining more power from the Dark Side, like the whole cheating death/unlimited power thing that he'd been talking about at RoTS. As for the empire, I don't even think he cares what happens to it as long as he is in at the top and the Jedi are defeated. That would explain your take on them as "dumber". With all of the technological stagnation - as the in-universe explanation to the technology difference of RoTS and ANH - it further shows the Emperor's focus is elsewhere.

The failure of Vader was.

@@87PauloRamos you're clearly just still salty about the sequels that aren't canon. Relax buddy. They understand they fucked up the sequels, and are working to retcon them with their new projects. When Ahsoka comes out, they'll be doing something with the World Between Worlds that will separate the sequels away from the main timeline that should've never been defiled and we'll get a newer better sequel era that Mando is a part of as well as ofc Ahsoka and probably even Boba Fett. As for Obi-Wan's show, it wasn't even bad. It was just a little treat for the prequel lovers. You'll come to love it too in a few years once everyone forgets the non-canon sequels.
