Sounds so cool on the Wurli, I have a 145 that was near dead, that I rescued, had my tech go through the whole thing, can't beat that sound man!

I really dig these lessons! they're very musical examples that players can use right away to make very cool music. The only thing I would say is the concept of chords within chords might be over complicating things. It could just be seen as melodic movement within the chords. Playing thirds up the mixolydian scale of each chord. But I'm probably just splitting hairs and it could easily be seen either way. Either way thanks for the awesome lessons 👍

He was so great!! That’s cool that you met him. I flew down to Austin from Canada to watch him play in a little bar. Worth the trip :)

Yeah this was a tiny club in the UK too. He lived in Austin I believe. When I started playing the Hammond he was my main idol.

Awesome tune!! Looks like a vintage keyboard from Ray Manzarek days. I'll try one of my Yamahas thru my old original neo-vent. Thank you!!

It’s a Wurlitzer 200A. Same one Supertramp used for a bunch of their tunes like Logical Song. I think Ray had a 140b in the studio with The Doors for the LA Woman sessions (I wasn’t there of course ;) but I think it was. They are similar. The 200a was a newer model and was made from 1974-1982. You should be able to find a sample of it on your Yamaha and yeah it’s gonna sound great through the vent. Especially with drive! I have generation 1 too. It’s an amazing piece of gear!! Thanks for watching. Mike

@@UniverseofKeys Thank you Mike! I wasn't aware of the different models. Yes, the original vent is sweet. I remember your video showing your tour setup. Hope you are enjoying the holidays and wish I could catch one of your shows!

Hey, another great video! I'm blanking on the shorthand musical term for those C-F/I-IV moves (like I've also seen Jimmy Smith do). I keep wanting to say 'modulation' but that doesn't seem right. "Help me, Obi-Wan..."
@UniverseofKeys10 ай бұрын
I would call it a 1 I- IV move. Same as you!! Maybe you are a Jedi!!

@@UniverseofKeys Haha, thanks Jedi master! I'll stop wracking my brain.
