He is a really nice actor, always liked him, excellent as The Saint. Watched it first time it was aired about '78. He was good in the Witchfinder General and other roles. Had the chance to meet him at a book signing several years back in the Vintage Magazine Bookshop, London. I was working that week.

I watched both saints - Roger Moore and Ian Ogilvy - and love them both equally. Roger Moore's Simon Templar was repeated on Granada TV (Manchester, UK) and Ian Ogilvy's Simon Templar was on Sunday evenings on the same channel when I was 13 years old. I had a blinding crush on Ian Ogilvy, with pin-ups on my wall, and he looks gorgeous here. How lucky were the TV crew to have their hands on the Jaguar XJS to give it a push! Bangers and Cash would have a field day souping up that motor. PS: I'm enjoying the re-runs of The Saint on Talking Pictures TV and Return Of The Saint on Great! TV (both free channels in the UK).

There's a roger Moore like presence in Ian for some Reason I used to associate Ian with roger Moore as 6 yr old back in the days I used to watch this Templar guy without fail!. RIP for roger Moore who also I liked as 007 bond who has sadly departed from this world

I quite liked the series , remember it from its original run on TV, they must have spent all the budget on the locations hence the poor wages for the principal actor!! I remember they did quite a few episodes which were really in Europe rather than the backlot of a British film studio....I'd say it was a British Tv series rather than just an English one though because we got it here in Scotland and I'm sure it was broadcast in Wales too....just a small point.....I prefer it when folk talk about British TV rather than English TV ;-)

Before Roger Moore and Ian Ogilvy they were another Saints there making the fiction novel. But I believe which afther Moore all right,... Ian Ogilvy took the flag with honor to the Saint and made fantastic adventures to much action and funny ! The last, I saw in 2014 if I remember Ian Ogilvy made together Adam Ryner making a villian together again with Roger Moore too ! Thank you good interview liked me ! Daniel. It's a shame he never became a much bigger star really as there is a touch of sophistication and intelligence to him, much like Charles Dance. But I guess the Roger Moore comparisons didn't help. He had always looked ten years younger than his real age.

What a shock. I've seen all the "Return" episodes but didn't even imagine it was him as The Fixer in The Saint 2017! Roger Moore was far more recognizable but I really disliked them making our former Saints into bad guys. Roger Moore was really amazing in the early '60s.

In hindsight he should of been picked to do 007 for "'visual continuity'" as at the time in the 80's he looked like a cross between Moore and Brosnan .
