Thanks for posting this. Great to watch a master of the game explain his techniques and thinking.

Seen him on the practice range at a senior event several years ago, he just killed it from mid irons thru to the driver. So smooth and unhurried. Lovey tempo.

This is the man I look up to and try to emulate in golf. I'm 5'3" and anytime I ask about "short" golfers, everyone says "well, Rory is short." at which point I say "That's not short." this is the closest pro I can find to study.

I have this video on video tape which I bought probably 20 plus years ago. Not seen it for donkeys years but still a great exhibition of golf ball striking - Woosie was my hero at the time. About the same period a golf magazine did a survey of fellow pros asking them who had the best swing in golf. If my memory serves me correct Woosie came first, Faldo second and Sevy third. Never really understood why such a great player lost the magic after wining the Masters in 1991, but I did notice in another video a few years later Wossie's swing had noticeably changed - his left heel no longer came off the ground - I wonder...

Thank you Ian. I'm 5'6" and want to know how you get fitted to your clubs. There doesn't seem to be any short pro's around to take a lesson from, or to advise me regarding length, type, grip, pitch of my clubs. I'm 76, and have played golf for 64 years. Still flexible enough, to swing my clubs but want to shoot my age before I get to 100. These videos of yours are perfect, for me anyway, thanks.

Am jealous already tbh... Would love to have 'picked up a set of clubs' back in the day & ventured into the wonderful/dedicated world of Golf. Keep on clubbing....

Being shorter myself....seems as though a draw should be the stock shot for a flatter shaft plane given our hands are lower to the ground, or toe slightly up.

At 13:30...."Above all, adopt these points to the swing you've already got, and it will work better for YOU".....perhaps no better advice has ever been given.

Woosy wasn't a big guy but could pop 315 yrd drives. How did he do that? Loose arms?
@chrisredig13815 жыл бұрын
I'm 6. 4 and my arms are around same size as his body so I actually imagine the guy is my arms and.... It works .. Worked before that

Gotta remember this was taped on VHS in 1990 250 was about average back then with 'real' wood woods
@allangregory56384 жыл бұрын
He hit it over 300 with todays "woods". I watched him do it loads of times. Yep he was "shite". Masters champ and one of the best Ryder Cuppers. You,Sir, are an idiot.
