+Turbo Camaro your tutelage helped me with my Scat Procar rally seat install, now you are helping with my RetroSound. Although not rocket science and my car is a 66 Barracuda, it is nice to see the product in process of install before tackling the project. Thank you!

No problem! I agree, it's nice to get a look at the unforeseen challenges with an install before you get there yourself. Perhaps a little help with talking out the issues can be good too. Either way, glad you find the videos helpful, and thanks for the comment!

Awesome video. Bought the same stereo Shipped it back after opening. Too much for me but that was before seeing this. Digital lights looked really cool.

Too bad, it's a nice unit. Not exactly a super easy install but maybe you'll find something better. This unit is a few years old now, but I still love it.

I have a question, I know this is an older video but I’m hoping I can get some help. Can this unit be run with a 5 channel amp? Because my amp powers the speakers, as well as the sub in my car. So there’s 3 sets of rca jacks coming from my amp. (3 white & 3 red)

Hey, so this video shows the RetroSound Model 2B-401-03-93. This stereo has a single subwoofer line out, and 2 seperate pre-amp line outs, labeled Front and Rear, with each have a dedicated left and right line. The answer is Yes, this stereo can supply your 5 channel amp with RCA connections for all 4 interior speakers and also a subwoofer. I hope that helps.

Where did you buy the retro sound M2 radio face plate for your Camaro? Face plate make and Model#? Thanks.

www.retromanufacturing.com/products/1967-68-chevrolet-camaro-hermosa-radio?variant=9368831491 is where I got it. And you can choose which knobs and faceplate you want. The ones I picked were closest to a factory oem stereo.

hey so we discussed your speaker install back in Dec. have one more question for you as I'm just getting around to putting everything in. I don't have a current harness at the back so I'll be wiring everything to the one that came with the radio. I'm just wondering how you ran the wires? 2 rca cables run to the 4 channel amp. Where the heck do you run the front and rear speaker wires coming from the deck? to the amp correct ? and then back from the amp to the speakers? I'm sorry for the questions just confused on how to run my wires. I have kick panel 6.5's. rear 6x9. Both of these ran by the 4 channel amp and a 10 inch sub ran by a mono amp. any help would be appreciated. thanks

Those are the ideal components you have there. Run the power wires to the amp(s) on one side of your car and the rca/speaker wires down the opposite. Even shielded wires can get interference from the amp power wires. The blue signal wire to the amp can be run with the rca's. If you mount your 4 channel amp behind the glove box you'll run required rca's to it, and then the speaker wires from it to the 4 speakers. Same idea if it's in the trunk, run all the rca's to the trunk and plug them into the amps and then plug in the 6x9s there, and run the other wires back through the rca path to the front speakers. It's a lot of wiring either way. I've always liked having the 4 channel amp in the front but it's entirely up to you.
@TurboCamaro678 жыл бұрын
Hmm.. I managed to write all that and avoided your specific question. The 2 rca's to the 4 channel amp are instead of using the speaker wires from the deck. The deck speaker wires can be left alone but be sure the ends of them are covered as bare wire could short the deck. Once you have the amps wired with rca's, you'll run speaker wires from them to the designated speakers. Still keep the power wires on one side of the car and the signal/speakers on the other.

Great video. I just recently purchased one for my 68 camaro. Will be doing the instal withing the next 2 weeks. what speakers are you running and where do you have them installed in the front? I currently have no speakers or stereo at all

I have 5" round pioneers mounted in the kick panels, 6x9 pioneers mounted in the package tray. 2 10" subs in the trunk under the tray. The stereo sounds Awsome. Much better sound than the higher powered decks I've had.
@kamillioooo59069 жыл бұрын
Ah ok. So for the 5" rounds did you cut out a spot in the panels? Would love to see another video of the full stereo set up. Speaker mounts and the sound. Thanks again
@TurboCamaro679 жыл бұрын
+Kamil Grabski Thanks! I did have to cut the panel behind the panels. It was one of the first things I did to the car and it was a bit of a hack job unfortunately. The 6x9s are mounted flush under the tray with a mesh package tray. Amp for the subs mounted upside down under the tray, between the speakers. Sub box just barely fits under the under the amp. Car is covered up under a tent while the motor gets a massive performance upgrade. I'll add your video idea to my list as their are lots to come.

Does the medal dash need to be cutout for it to fit?
@TurboCamaro674 жыл бұрын
Hey, that's a good question. My vehicle already had a hole cut in the dash for a modern aftermarket radio so I can't say for sure. It's possible the main head unit of the Retrosound stereo may fit in the stock hole, and then the knobs could go in the original holes, but unfortunately I can't confirm. I'd ask Retrosound directly if you are considering this option. They may even have measurements in their site. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
