John was great growing up.. Typical tough guy from Eastie/Boston..ways had a full set of nuts.. I seen Johnny riding his white heritage with the Iron Maiden mural plenty of times... Sick bike, he was a good rider! Met John playing hockey actually in our hometown League. He grew up on the other side of town from me. Yeah, John roughed up every kid on my team. Hahaaa... We all played hockey. That was out thing in Boston, Half ball and hockey hahaha. I understand Johns loyalty completely. I think anyone who grew up in old school Boston understood what it ment to come from one of the boroughs. You were from Charlestown it meant something, same as East Boston ect... Even though John and myself were mostly acquaintances growing up, if I seen him in a fight, I'd jump in like he was Family, just because I knew he was from Eastie, that's how it was. It was one of the things we were all taught growing up.. All on one, and one on all... Take care of your own, but that's not saying we weren't fighting each other that night.. Same thing though in like I said, Charlestown or Southie ect... Hey, great interview! I'm subscribing... Billy C Boston Massachusetts.

Thanks Johnny for talking about mental health. Yes it is very real. There are plenty of self help ways to function better but I highly recommend counseling. And meds even though it might be hard finding the right stuff but keep trying. I have bipolar type 2 and major depression. I'm sure without meds and a good family I would have gone in the river. That was over 40 years ago and I've stayed in treatment ever since. One thing to always remember is don't be too stubborn to ask for help. Sometimes you really need it and just follow your guide to the right person. Just ask!
