No it does not because the rotation portion is not touching the back of the ipad.

The. hand strap is badly placed over the kick stand on the back plate. It makes the stand difficult to deploy and retract. There doesn't seem a way to detach the hand strap which is sewn in place at one end. The stand must be clicked in place and is very difficult to retract (made even harder with the strap obscuring it). I am not surprised that other users report the stand breaking given how thin the plastic is and the force needed cooperate it. Definite design glitch.

Got one for my daughters iPad Pro. Stand snapped off within a week and the case does rotate onto the back plate of the iPad. Luckily, we noticed that before installing an £1100 device into it. Now been returned for refund. Thanks for the review...
