I could listen to Mark play guitar for hours at a time, the sound he makes with the strings is like no other. I am in my 60's and fell in love with his music as a teen and never stopped loving his unique sound. Don't ever ask me for a favorite song, there are too many.

I only feel the sweet nostalgia of my upbringing from songs like "Molesting the Decapitated" by Devourment and 'Meathook Sodomy', ' Entrails Ripped From Virgin's' from Cannibal Corpse. Now THOSE remind me of the soothing lullabies one of my nannies used to sing to me.....before...well before she was decapitated and her entrails somehow ended up being used to re-string my "dad's" set of tennis rackets. Lol

I have this playing as I am currently stacking my wood pile. My little kitty buddy hanging with me. Its 70 and a nice autumn breeze, sun poking out here and there. I know it's not Knopfler playing, but this is beautiful. Knopfler always has been such a genuine guitar player, even without the lyrics it's so damn obvious what the songs are about. What I really admire though is that the lyrics match the music so perfectly. Only one guitarist can do that this well and that's Mark Knopfler.

I have only one complaint: why has KZbin only just recommended this to me now! You’ve done an excellent job on this. I am a massive Knopfler/Dire Straits fan, and a huge fan of guitar instrumentals, so this is just pure magic to me. I’m just gutted my father passed away earlier this month, because he would have loved this. He was also a fan of Ireland. Keep up the great work.

Bravo. Instrumental music doesn t try to preach or tell banal stories you can't relate to. The music (right brain) is the soul-transformer not the words (left brain). Thank you for the video. Reminds me of those days when $10 gas in my rented Hertz Camry could last the whole day going places on a weekend. Not so much when I switched to the Thunder Bird.

Thunder Bird rings a bell, was it a Pontiac by any chance? If so, my old man had a red one back in the 80's with the big eagle on the bonnet/hood. It's the only one I ever saw, we're in Britain, that thing was his pride and joy. Either way, thank you for the memories 🙂 🤝

@@KumaBean To answer your question: It is a Ford. I like the Thunderbird a lot because I was then in my mid 20's and I love speed. I still remember one late autumn night I ramp the machine hard till the speedo reads '90' and the machine shook! That experience is unforgettable. I didn't realised I was going 90 miles an hour not 90 kilo/hr.! I guess your father would probably have many exciting experiences with the Thunderbird as well.
