I did subscribe as a result of this vid. Learning Free CAD is quite challenging.

In time the learning experience will be worth the challenges.

Thanks. The construction method you used for the four holes was fun. So that I could move such holes around paremetricly, I am contemplating a method centered on a point not at the origin. Might make a useful video.

Quite useful, thanks for this. I'm wondering if there is a way to copy and flip the rectangular cutout on body003, the left version, so as to re-use the exact same profile cutter shape ? IOW instead of re-drawing the cutter sketch from scratch, copy/link and transform the cutter sketch somehow.

If I understand you correctly, yes you could do it.

At 3:28 you chose not to copy the XY plane. I do not understand the consequences of copying enough to know what is going on with this decision. Perhaps a video comparing and contrasting the consequences of the choice would help.

There is already an x-y plane at the destination so no need to copy it however if you copy it no big deal.

Hi, great video ! I know that Freecad has the ability to make Gcode to run a CNC machine. I have yet to find any videos on that subject. I am trying to produce drawings / Gcode for a CNC plasma cutter which is abasically a 2D operation. I am wondering If you might have the time to make a short video of that process or if not perhaps I could buy a lesson from you. I am in Ocala, Thanks

I do have some videos showing how to use freecad to run a cnc router. Take a look in my freecad Playlist (not beginner)

Thanks, I have been doing 2.5 D Cad for 20 years. Autocad, Intellicad, Turbocad, Bobcad primarily drawing to make Gcode. I am very good with those programs but computers keep changing and not everyone has continued to rewrite their programs to keep up with windows. So I have been searching for a capable program that wont become obsolete in a couple of years. Freecad is the most promising program that I have found. Years ago I wrote a DXF to Gcode conversion program in VB6 which works very well and outputs Gcode in the exact format that I like. All of that stuff is now obsolete now because of platform changes. I will check out the link. If I can get the hang of a 2D drawing I think I can hack the Gcode module source code to output what I need.@@Adventuresincreation

How would you link the sketches so that the first sketch acts as a master sketch?

I found the download. Do I just delete the older version?
