Great, easy to follow video. I followed along with this video using version 1.0.0 up to about 4:16 when attaching the xz sketch plane to vertex 3 the plane would move but lay on the plane that was drawn on. Is this something in the new version? Second question: can that drawing plane be aligned to say 3 points, and if so how? Third question: mouse rotation doesn't work for me following r+o keystrokes or holding shift with mouse. Anything new there?

I am not aware of anything being different with planes but because the TNP has been mitigated you can use faces to sketch from now. The mouse options can be changed lower right. Mine is in blender mode.

From first principles, what documentation exists for us new users to be able to work out that sequence you just went through?
@AdventuresincreationАй бұрын
The documentation always lags behind but there are lots of videos to help

The end points and rim points curve, how do you curve it precisely? I’m trying to model a Reflex Sight, the amount the side curves stick out from the width of the sight is 10cm, so each curve would need to be a total of 5cm, but it seems that the radius is calculated based of off the curve, and then it’s centre point which is pulled way back and most of the time out of the sketch, I also can’t do a measurement constraint from the curve to the main box my curves come out from, which means I can’t take that space into consideration for manually measuring and adjusting the curve, I know it’s probably really simple, but I just can’t seem to figure it out, and can’t find any videos specifically on precise curves.

Can you share your sketch so I can better visualize what you are trying to do

What is the purpose of creating the body inside of a part? I read one other person saying they do this too.
@Adventuresincreation11 ай бұрын
You can create several bodies inside a part. You can create several parts inside a file. You can assemble parts.

Newly subscribed and a newb to this world. I started at your "Freecad for Beginners" at #1 and am progressing. I started making a "Bloomin' Onion" mold. It is basically just a 4" diameter cylinder with a 1/2" base, enclosed bottom and numerous vertical slots equally spaced around the perimeter. I got the cylinder formed and one slot cut(using Boolean) but am now stumped. I have tried Datum plane but don't have enough experience to properly execute. Could you do a video explaining or possibly get me going in the right direction? Thanks for the excellent series.

Absolutely, can you show me a sketch of what you want. I will create a video to produce it.

Thank you. Just traveling for a couple days. How do I get a sketch to you?
@Adventuresincreation Жыл бұрын
@@skutahuniai4830 you can post it somewhere that I can download it. That's the easiest way.

Oh wow this is so complicated.
@AdventuresincreationАй бұрын
Once you get used to it, the complexity isn't so difficult. But to create 3d models is a complex task.

That modes has some nasty edges in the middle.. I would probably go with a third curve between the 2 curves to smooth the hard edge. This certainly wouldn't print well.. Happy new year to you...
@Adventuresincreation Жыл бұрын
I agree Paul, definitely would smooth that out if I was going to print it. Was just trying to get the concept over in a simple way.
