That's not only unique in its style; it's beautifully executed, as well. And, that grain in the pine is fantastic.

What a great shape! With that bold grain the pine seems to do well made into a larger piece. Really shows off the colors too. Thank you for a great video!

From one Wood Turner to another nice work on the pine. I have only turned 3 pieces of some mysterious evergreen I think Juniper in the Townships recycling dump for yard waste. I find it pretty relaxing. Because of the smell of the wood is just like Red Cedar, and it doesn't grow here in central Pa. Happy turning my friend ☺️

Thank you very much my friend, hope you continue to turn and continue to find free wood haha

This is just beautiful. Amazing to see you take a less-than-beautiful piece of pine and turn it into a work of art.

I'm a new subscriber and have tried turning pine with minor success. What finish are you putting on your pine pieces.
@IanMacWoodturning7 ай бұрын
Hi mate, I don't turn too much of the lighter pine trees but this red pine seems to come out alright, I generally use sanding sealer and then may apply some bees wax and buff that up but I have a variety of different polishes and varnishes that I'll use on different pieces.

I paused mid way, the shape you have going looks like a possible double bowl. Which, I think, would be unique piece. But if you continue on and make a vase, I love the shape. The ring going around the neck. 😃

Ok, I finished video. Such a pretty piece. Was curious, on pine, there isn't any problems with sap? Some carvers tend to steer clear of pine for that reason.
@IanMacWoodturning9 ай бұрын
Haha I saved the other piece for another day! Yeah that's definitely an issue with the Pine, my bandsaw blade is covered in resin!

Thanks Jim! I'd be lying if I knew exactly the type, it's definitely a red pine of some sort.
