It is people like Vandana Shiva that people from Uttarakhand lost their right over forest. She will never tell you that the same Uttarakhand witnessed "Cut the tree Movement' by the locals because forest department did not allowed them to cut any tree after the new forest act passed after chipko movement. Chipko movement was not against cutting the tree but against giving the rights to cut the tree to the outsiders.
