Watching this video reminds me of Su Dongchen ( essence of evolution). I don't know if you're familiar with him, but you might check out some of his videos.

I was watching some of your other videos where comments are disabled and I just wanted to comment on how freaking fast you are! Amazingly fast and seem to have great power too. I would certainly train under you if you were in my area.

This side for the reasons to training is not covered enough. Well stated. Ueshiba said something similar to his students. "Why do you come to the dojo to get beaten up everyday just to learn how to fight when you'll probably only get into one fight in your life." His way of saying to his students to search their hearts for bigger reasons to train.

I do think he has some great points and I like this video. I also do respect everything he said.. but I believe that you should have an emphasis on the self defense aspect because of the world we live in. Too many time have I seen Martial Artists get beat because of that attitude that is not so much about fighting, more about a better mindset.. then a threat comes upon them and they get beat.. not saying Adam Chan is wrong, but I think his students will take it wrong.

yinyang. Want self improvement as well as developing fighting ability. Need balance. I think Adam's point was to not 'only' focus on fighting. obviously during a martial arts class you are gonna focus on fighting, however, don't be so obsessed with fighting that you develop mental/emotional imbalances.

You are good teacher, but It is totally time wasting to teach all these people. They will never learn. All your nice techinques are just an entertainment for them.

Also, if these people get wrong idea, that they can fight or defend themselves after they learn these techniques; it can cost their own life, if they dont run away from danger!

It is a fact that most students of any art or discipline will never master it. A teacher can choose to teach thousands and have only 12 disciples, or teach only 12 students. Most of the maths I learned in school won’t be applied in most professions. But knowing that differential calculus exists will sometimes come up in conversation. I can’t do the proof of General Relativity, but the theory is useful for understanding the Universe. Over the decades, several of my students, as mediocre as they are, have used the skills and theory learned here to save themselves from bandits, kidnappers, rapists, and more. Some of my students have used these skills in conjunction with other combat skills on the front lines. At the very least, I would hope that they are entertained.

@@IanSinclairTaiChi Dont ask them to use the techniques to fight bandits, kidnappers, rapists and more... Teach them how to RUN AWAY from those situations please. They maybe get killed! Anyway, you are a good teacher. If you like to use your time to entertain the people with you martial art, i wish you lucky.
