Hello there.. I also live in Scotland and recently discovered your videos which I think are excellent ... with the finished model you show looking first class.. keep them coming please.

Hi Ian, I live in Scotland and I sailed with a Chief engineer who dealt in marine antiquities. He told me that pattern makers made a full model and cut it in half giving one have to the owner and one half to the yard not sure if this is correct after watching your video though. nice job.

Nice work. I had a friend make one for my boat. 19ft. Ohio Sharpie Skiff.I like it a lot. Be interesting to see how you layout your oval backing board.Ive seen three methods, By algebra, With two sticks . And with 2 nails and a piece of string . All work well enough. The maths one is the hardest for me . The two sticks is ok but the two nails and string I found the easiest.

It is not parallel water lines that you are tracing out with hail holes, it is (I think) the bullock lines. Small point.

Buttock lines.

Oops, it is indeed possible to make a half model using the horizontal "water lines".
