My target audience is "average players" , who aren't always going to be in perfect altitude-advantage boom-and-zoom position with every engagement. Having an "edutainment" sort of format, I can't just show off ace matches all the time - because theres a lot more to the game than that.

So I told a classmate of mine about the 93B being in Wae Thunder, and he was so excited about it, he's already got a light-plane pilots license or something, ( in Romania it's free for students) and wants to become a fighter pilot. We also have a 93B on display at the airport in my town!

its my country of romania decided to scrap most of the iar93 it has, very few survived and none are operational or repairable

I killed 2 F104s in a game with this thing. 1 with a missile and 1 with head-on using guns. Also, I did a reversal on a Mig21 and got him with a missile lol

I have been seeing some leaks a LONG while ago, I belive it has been years! I was so excited, and, accidentally, I managed to saw a IAR-93 in real life, while visiting the military museum of Bucharest, after seeing the tanks and other ground vehicles, there in the back, was tucked away a damn hangar, it had the Iar-93, it had a whole Mig-19 if I'm not wrong (it was a mig jet nontheless), and it even had the spacesuit, capsule, and parachute of a rocket that reached space and landed! It was a pleasant experience and I was so happy to see this plane coming into the game, just for the sake of me being Romanian and actually see it in real life (it's way more intimidating irl)!

Well it was suspended by the ceiling , so I could see kind off mostly under it, but no, I couldn't see inside the cockpit or anything like that if that's your question! But not because I was told I couldn't see inside, but physically it was above my head!

Small note. IAR had soviet avionics. J22 had western one. Same goes for weapons. Originaly was suppose to have much better engine. But because Romania was in warsaw pact, Yu and Romania couldnt get licence for needed engine. Instead they ended up with low power Vipers.

First event vehicle in my 12 years of playing that I grinded for! It makes me excited to hopefully have some Yugoslavian vehicles or a tech tree added one day. While they didn't produce the best vehicles, a lot of their domestic aircraft and land vehicle designs are pretty funky and refreshing. They could even flesh out a "Yugo" tree even more now that Croatia took delivery of Rafales. Would be cool!

I personally love the entry level AAM combat sort of jets, the MIG-17AS, FJ-4, and the Demon so I was excited to get this one and it slots nicely into Italian lineups giving a nice strike jet for it's BR. The combination of BR, CCIP, RWR and afterburner makes it very nice.

Tbf, Orao/Vulture is transonic jet, which should be able to hit mach 1 in dive. Do not know if that is how model is made in game.

the late yugoslav ones can carry r60s instead of the piddly r3s but i guess that would push its BR too high to be fun considering this plane's flight perf is barely hanging on to its br peers

No. J22s never got R60s or any AA for that matter. But they got mavericks, domestic Grom, clusters and durandals. Maybe recently modernised variant in Serbian airforce got something.

@@TheGranicd Was some experiments before with R-60 and I don't know what swedish antiship missile, even version with radar, thats why he was think...but he was stay like ground attack who was combat proven in 1999 in total air supreme of NATO with only two loses. He was resistend against jam, because all instruments are analog xD. Now he have laser guided bombs, guided missiles...and if you see not even IAR-99 didn't have air to air wepoans , only experiments like J-22 ;). J-22 was experiment with r-60 missiles . modernised version can carry two on the end of the wings

so for the most part I really like this jet, stay high and keep your energy up and target prioritization as well as taking targets of opportunity work very well, as for the landing, what you showed is not how to land a plane, by smashing the nose gear into the runway with a low approach and then bouncing, full flaps on a 3.0 degree glideslope with a 150kt approach speed and it lands short

Kindof, yes. Its ok - expect to get roasted for a while - the learning curve is real, but you'll get there. Check out my vids on "moving from props to jets" and probably my missile guide to learn more about the AAMs this has.

Speaking of not being fast enough to hit a base. Grinding for this event i was in the process of grinding/spading planes like the f111a, tornado, su17m2 And every single game premium f4s, mig23s and f104s ALWAYS beat me out to the base. And they take like 5min to respawn. Actually makes these pathetic planes even more useless than they already are. Sorry for the rant

My tip is, if somebody is going for the same base you are going and the others are already having a plane going towards them, go attack ground units, preferably the ones that are moving in convoys. I found it out the last day of grinding. Try to use the bombs to kill the tanks, and use the guns to kill the trucks and light vehicles. Nobody except the subsonics go for those, and even they don't really do that, they go for the stationary units most of the time, if they don't get shot down by the time they'd reach that point. I used the Tornado IDS...or IDF (the one before the 1995 variant in the italian tech tree, the strike aircraft, not the fighter) and got some decent results out of that. Just make sure the "base destruction reward" modifier is as high as possible, it does affect the score. You will get less SL and RP this way, but more score than if you went for the base.

@ i do that in the a10,a7 sometimes the mig27 but the rest like the tornado and ardvark just arent agile enough to make the finer adjustments to hit those smaller targets. Just wish there was another game mode. To be fair the newer maps with those stationary mbts,spgs, etc are an improvement and ec maps are fine in that regard as well. But there is just an over saturation of base bombers

@@junyutan2172 Yeah, with the Tornado I did long runs. I think it was me flying 3 km, then turning around for another run, otherwise I'd splatter on the ground after the 3rd run's end if I didn't have the long run to regain the lost speed. And with the base bombers, it wouldn't be an issue if only strike aircrafts took bombs, but it's the issue is that players that take bombs on fighters then expect strike aircrafts like the Tornado with the aerodynamics of a brick and 2 missiles to do the job of a fighter with at least 4 missiles and decent turning. Not to mention, 2 of those missiles can be radar missiles. Seen plenty of people that were in F104s and Mig23s that would ignore actual combat just to go bomb bases. 2 kills is already more score than what the base can give. And if you win the match, it's even more SL and RP. On the last day I mostly went for ground units because otherwise all the braindead F4s and F104s would go for the bases. I think my win rate went down just because of those people. And yes, I know, there are good F4S players that actually play it like a fighter, I have all the respect for those. But from my experience 90% of the F4S players just try to go for bases. Emphasis on the word TRY. I'd have lobbies that were full of people with 135 score and not a bit more... 70% of those people were in F4Ss. They need to either add more bases, or make them respawn quicker. Or, have a penalty for fighters that bomb bases, so they get like, maybe let's say 50% of the normal reward, so it'd incentivize people to actually do the role of the plane. I understand the use of bombs for CAS, but if you'll play air RB, actually do something to try to win the match... Bombing bases doesn't affect the tickets at all.

I don't know why but i got this plane last night and every missle i fired at an enemy plane just went off to Narnia. Never tracking the enemy plane. Ive never experienced this before with IR missles, ive seen it countless times with the aim7F, but this missle is not an aim7F...

I'd have to see a clip to guess, but the missiles on this thing (and the R-3S and AIM-9B) are very prone to chasing the sun from farther off-angle than you might expect.

i abandoned this vehicle midgrind. cause the grind was aweful. you have to play somewhat 6h to get the full 35k even if you play in simulator.... its just too much for too few

They can eassy make Yugoslavian version just editing weapons and add counter measures, Yugoslavian use different weapons than Romanian Like French Durandal , British Bl755, Agm-65 maverick, Grom...

Ah, the budget Warsaw Pact "equivalent" of the Sepecat Jaguar... The Viper was a terrible engine, originally designed as a compact, cheap, expendable engine for target drones, it was a poor choice for a manned aircraft. Even then, the aerodynamics were not great so between the 2, it was a thoroughly underwhelming aircraft.
