At 3' 18" it's one of those old CIE diesel engines, an infernal din, yet you have to love it. This is how I remember Dun Laoghaire (at school, CBC Monkstown, 1979-80, and living in Killiney) pre- DART. We used to place coins on the track at Blackrock, then retrieve them some yards up the track, flattened. Bit wrong, I know.

Irish rail was far better in those days much more comfortable stock, craven's, mk2s, 6101s I wouldn't even get on a 2600 I'd wait for a push pull back then :)
