Monsters of Steam 2024 . UK Steam on the Mainline.

The steam season covering 2024 would see West Coast operating MK2 Stock with a diesel on the rear due to the unavailability of MK1 stock due to not having central door locking fitted yet . This would see Tangmere hauling most of the tours with Ian Riley's two black fives 44871 & 45407 stepping in to help .60007 Sir Nigel Gresley would also return over Shap and the Settle and Carlisle line on Fellsman duties. 70000 Britannia would also grace the 1 in 75 climb of Shap with 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe also heading a steam special over Shap for the 1st time in years . SR 34046 Braunton is also seen at various locations ,44871 & 45407 double heading the Great Britain XVI over Beattock and 45212 also on the Settle and Carlisle line .Big thanks to all involved in keeping steam running on the Mainline network .

Excellent compilation of the year Steve, it worked out better than expected considering the stock issues and some visiting favourites certainly helped and what we do without the trio of Black 5s always there when you need them, cheers 👍

What a great collection of videos. When you look back over the year you tend to think it was not one of the best years for steam. However this video makes you realise how lucky we are to still be seeing so much steam in 2024 in some stunning locations. Very well done Stephen with excellent camera work there is a steam light engine movement Keighley and worth valley railway to Carnforth steamtown via Giggleswick on New years eve but I don't what loco it is and whose driving please can you find out for me please bye for now Philip Ps thank you very much for all your support and updates much appreciated

When will they learn to film the train and rotate the camera with the train. Otherwise the loco's sound nice like they should.

Thanks for the comment Collin . 99% of my locations make it impossible to pan around due to many factors. Possibly one or two could be possible but as I have my microphone in a blimp and on a long cable the sound wouldn’t follow even if I turned the camera 🤷
