I moved from a strict asf cbse school called Narayana and it traumatized me so much that my mom had to move me to an international school for grade 11, and I finally feel excited to go to school ,ib schools are fun and interesting but also pressurizing bcz u cant cram study and mug up stuff

Ended up with a 43/45 in IB yet engineering colleges in India don’t know much about what 6s and 7s are. Also, since the IB curriculum is way different than what is asked in JEE, I had a tough time managing both and in the end gave more priority to IB(wrong choice tbh). Not worth it if you want to do engineering in India. Fyi: i had math aa HL, physics HL and chem HL as my higher level subjects

Hi Rishwa! I was in ICSE too, um.. typically schools don't care if you're an inhouse student or not, if you want to pursue Sciences at HL without any prior knowledge, i believe the school would want to take an entrance test to see if you're ready for Science HL or not. Hope this helps!

usually the school will provide you with material and its not mandatory to have books, but if you do want to buy any its absurdly expensive, like 4k to 6k ruppees per book

This is not a good idea, since the MYP (IB for 10th graders) is not something you can adjust to very quickly. I suggest switching in 11th, the Diploma programme is relatively easy to adjust to.

If you are in an IB School, the textbooks will be included in the fee. Otherwise you can find pdfs of them online. I would not recommend buying them from a store since they are very expensive

Hi! idk if you're still struggling to choose but my two cents are if you're preparing for competitive exams like JEE, NEET or any other exam for that matter do not and i mean DO NOT pursue the ib diploma, the reason is actually very simple and clear, competitive exams like JEE and NEET are CBSE based exams, therefore if you pursue IB, you'll have to study extra (from cbse preferably not including all the extra coaching and practise papers you'll have to solve lol). Does taking a new secondary foreign language let's say Spanish at SL mean that you start learning from the beginning in that subject.What I want to know is that taking a foreign lang as a secondary language will it be hard to learn ?

If you take Spanish AB initio, you start learning from scratch. The difficulty really depends on you, if you are disciplined enough to give it an hour every day, it will be your easiest subject
