ohh :(( I'm so sorry to hear that! It sucks when you put so much effort into something and it doesnt work out. It's often not even about the grade.. but an affirmation that all the effort was worth it (at least that's how I feel it haha). I think that the IB should grade EEs more nicely.. or that the final grade should be an average of the prediction and the examiner's marking (this way the behavior towards writing an EE and how organised you are are also factors.. and very important imo). Anyways, what did you write your EE on? :)

Many people might disagree but I've done both MYP and IB, and MYP 10th grade was probably the hardest year of my life, even more stressful than 12th. IB is tough, but a little more straightforward and clear, MYP criteria is so generic and vague. Stay on top of your work and WORK HARD during the summer between 11th and 12th, it's the most crucial time for an IB student, especially if you're diploma

Hi Adela! How's life? It's me again and I need your advices with the IB so much and I will be sooo grateful if you give me some, please!!!🙂 So, can you please tell if it's possible for me to change my EE topic now? 😬 I know that it's too late but I feel that everything I did for the one I have now, I could do less than in a week. And I feel much more passionate about the other topic that I've recently found and already have a plan and so many ideas about it in my head. But I'm kinda afraid of the teachers' reactions as we supposed to finish the draft by September 7th and they probably won't be content about it. I'm not sure if it's even allowed because of the reflection thing and the interviews with supervisor... I just want to do so because I really doubt if my present topic is related to the Geography syllabus at all, plus it's difficult since it's about identity. The other topic I want to choose is about leisure and sports, which is definitely in the syllabus because I just opened one option book which was given for summer as a HW ans it is all about this. So I already have a great secondary resource and even kind of a guide! Anyways, I hope to hear your opinion and hopefully I'm not giving you too much extra work! Hiii!! I'm sure you can still change it. I also changed my topic in the middle of the summer and just emailed my supervisor.. he was completely fine with it. Regarding the reflections, you can reflect on the old topic and maybe say why you decided to change it to the new one. Is identity somehow related to leisure and sports? In the next reflection, you can write that you were reading about leisure and sports in relation to one's identity... and you got so intrigued by the subject that you decided to focus on this instead. They'll be happy to see how you've developed your idea. Identity is a broad topic, whilst leisure and sports are much more focused, which will be much better for your EE.. and the examiners will be happy to see your progress and your journey writing the EE.

Get a remark for Econ!! There's no way it will drop to a 42, and you need one extra percentage to get a 44. It's worth it. It costs around 150$ but if it results in a remark, they refund you the money. Talk to your IB coordinator But other than that congratulations!!

Adela I have some friends remarking their Econ papers, I'll let you know if they change drastically to the better, maybe it will help clear up a decision :) But as you said, as long as you're in your first choice of uni then not much of a difference, just for future records

Definitely fun and interesting!! If you love Maths and are quite good at it then SL would be too basic for you. :) we did the Stats option so I can’t tell u how Discrete option is. Good luck tho!!

Yeah..definitely try at least!! If anything, you can always drop down to SL if you're struggling or don't enjoy it. Are you planning to take HL Econ? I took SL.. which was honestly very easy. The whole two years were fine.. I just messed up the exam and that's what counts (which kinda sucks lol). If you're planning to do HL Econ then there's some more complicated concepts.. but nothing ridiculous haha
