The dreaded day of receiving my IB results have arrived... yay...

My son got Math AA HL 5, English B HL 6, Economics HL 6, Business SL 6, Chinese A HL 6, Computer Science SL 5, EE B, TOK B. The overall result is 36. But his predicted overall scores is 39. He has classmate got 45.

I would not be mad at him for a 36. It will have very little impact on his academics (universities don't really care about IB scores unless you're outside of North America). A 36 may not be an insanely high score, but he still sits well above the average

im an upcoming junior dude im so scared. are these scores based on the IB test alone? or are they a cumulation of your IAs, etc??

Based on the cumulation of your IA’s and final exams

Don't be. IB is not that hard. You only start to feel the pressure when you are in DP2. DP1 was one of the most enjoyable years of my life. DP2 you start worrying more about IAs and stuff but it all works out in the end. I'm going to take this year's exams and can tell you that looking at the grade boundaries from previous years being above average is extremely easy.

One thing that helped me was mastering the different tenses and conjugations. It’ll help in your oral and paper 1 because it shows the examiner that you know how to use verb tenses and it also makes your work standout from the other students

I fucked around in grade 11 so I had to grind conjugations in g12. Spanish ended up having as much revision as an hl subject. So i guess learn ur conjugations and don’t piss around like I did cus I had to work insanely hard for a 6
