Garry's theme feels so much like him. It just sounds like this fashionable strange beanpole of a man, smiling down softly at a little girl, wrapping her up in his coat so that she isn't cold, awkwardly hugging her back... He is just. Such a strangely comforting figure. Every time you hear this theme, your heart just feels at least a little bit warmer. Get you a friend like Garry, or better yet, be that friend. :-)
@krzaminecraft5 ай бұрын
Garry's theme feels very natural, very warm and human. It seems like a real recording. Compare it to mary's theme which sounds extremely artificial and slightly creepy with perfect rythm and tempo. It's definitely on purpose, and really stands out and really helps illustrate that Mary is not a "real" person.

This is the kind of games I want my children to try out at least once. They might not accept and like it, but it’s something I want them to feel and experience. Back in the day I had guitar lessons and Garry’s theme was one of the first ones I asked my teacher to teach me to perform, and it’s something what will stay with me as a great lesson.

I remember playing IB years ago and being deadly scared of the women that would jump out of the paintings. Now they just make me sad. @notisaferreira3 жыл бұрын
in the game there is one book that tell us that the painter made those because of 3 women that pretended to love guertena for his money, so I think the feeling that the paintings represent are like despair, agony and betrayal. Keeno lovely seeing it that way, too bad Mary is like all the other monsters in the painting, if there was a “sacrifice yourself” ending in the original game maybe they could have made Mary more relatable and friendly
@distantforest24814 жыл бұрын
@@josetomascamposrobledano4618 But thats the thing. Are they actually monsters? Maybe we just need to learn their point of view, like the insane version of Mary we see in every version. True though. Maybe the "self sacrifice" is what we need to be... or maybe its the easy way out. That is what we need to think about.
@magnusm44 жыл бұрын
@@distantforest2481 Isn't it wrong though that Mary's goal is always self destructive and completely artificial, void of any emotion or reasoning? Wouldn't Mary be better representing desires and our obsession with success as an absolute for happiness? In one ending she pretty much kills both of them and turn them into lifeless dolls to play with. Basically mimicking a fake version of friends and them selves in a false idea of happiness and contempt when falsely succeeding. Her goal the entire time is understandable but her methods and how far she goes for it makes her an insane self driven monster. Besides, the monsters actively hunt to kill, one is tearing Gary's rose gellfully and Mary does the same.
@distantforest24814 жыл бұрын

The reasonable ending is probably burning the remains of Mary, its kind of reasonable if you think about it, even if Mary had a soul, still they would have to bring up the question of whoever goes to reality. In together forever its probably the most neutral ending, since the friend Garry you saw was replaced by some character in a painting. It would feel less sad to be without Mary, and killing Mary itself off would finally rest the painted world it was in, being seperate realities between Ib and Garry, and Mary being with the other painted characters. Mary just wants a friend.

Never played Ib or any RPGmaker horror games myself(cause i'm a scaredy cat)but Ib has kinda been my comfort game the last few years and i don't really know why. Everytime i get overwhelmingly sad,depressed or stressed,i always somehow find myself falling back to watching videos about the game even though i'm absolutely still affraid of ever playing the game myself. It's a horror game and yet there's this strange kinda nostalgia and comfort i find in it. Maybe it's because i spent years watching my brother play RPGmaker horror games back in 2012-2014ish(and i just realized most of the fandom also discovered Ib around the same time and also at the same 8-9 age range which would make most of us the same age as her now,including me)and so many of my childhood memories are associated with these games,even if in the tiniest ways like a random offhand recollection about seeing X game being played while i was doing something trivial,but there's this strange kind of comfort i find in the game. There's no gore,no outright antagonist and yet it's still one of the more notable horror games i know of,the fact that your enemies aren't just mere monsters but artworks of this mysterious artist that has their own reason and story as to why they even exist in the first place and you spend the entirety of the game uncovering more and more about this mysterious world of Guertana and his works is such an interesting concept. It's horror with a strange premise but one that really turned out well admittedly. Anyways that's all for my rant lol just felt like venting out what i had in mind for the last few years but never really been able to figure out why,at least until recently as these games,characters and stories age more and more

This soundtrack is so extremely beautiful, but it also has such a melancholy, almost haunting feel to it. I was watching a K-drama the other day and a song from this soundtrack began playing in the background, and I suddenly felt very emotional. I miss this game so much. It's such a wonderful game and I wish it was popular again. I also wish for it to gain a sequel maybe or maybe a cartoon/anime/movie of some sort. Plus, I adore it's whole soundtrack and story.

When i hear music from games like Ib or mad father or wadanohara certain songs with melancholic melody make me feel nostalgic that makes a heavy feeling in my chest and i wish i could go back in time and see these games for the first time again.

idk why but when I play games I start to get too involved with the characters and that happened me with Garry. The first time I played it, I got a bad ending (when he dies) and I was so sad, even I played it again just to get the happy ending AND IT'S BEAUTIFUL. This game has an excellent story and I don't know how to explain it, the OST is incredible too. 10/10
