Great show Roger - loved seeing all those vacuums out together! 40 minutes of pure vacuum pleasure. I thought you might have made the Shark cordless powered liftaway your vacuum of the month - maybe next month eh? I'd imagine the Ball Animal 2 will be pretty much the same kind of performance as the Light Ball, just in a slightly more "dressed up" package, but it did seem to put the Gtech AirRam to shame though. I agree with you - cordless is great and convenient, but it still needs backing up by the weekly use of a proper mains powered vacuum. I currently use the V8 and Shark NV681UKT as my daily drivers, and whilst the V8 is really good, the Shark comes along and finds more dirt after it, mainly as I use the V8 on low power all the time, and never on MAX. Loved seeing the old Ranger too - its my favourite model from the 70s, and the one my parents owned when I was small. I hope you can restore the Ranger to its former glory!

I have a Dyson DC14, DC40 and a Henry. I can honestly say after years of use, none of them let themselves down really. If I was to look for weaknesses however, the Dyson machines, I would not recommend for DIY clean-ups, as heavy dust can do damage to a Dyson. The Henry is hardy machine and is a favourite in the construction industry. The Henry is a workman's work horse and will deal with larger debris with ease, including fine dusts like plaster and residues from cement based products. For finite cleaning the Dyson beats the Henry every time, though for dusting shelves and hard to reach areas the Henry is far more versatile with an ease of manoeuvrability, where the Dyson with its clumsy hose and wand will topple the machine over and be awkward. All these machines do an excellent job and if you vacuum regularly, will maintain excellent results. A clean home always. I love my Dyson's for everyday cleaning, but if I have a real construction mess to deal with, good "ole" Henry proves its value. Afterwards, I use the Dyson machines to perfect the cleaning process, with excellent result every time! I love all my machines. They do the job! My floors are spotless, no matter what machine I use. Whatever vacuum you possess, I would only recommend regular usage. Do not allow the floors to become too dirty, as all machines should function well if you vacuum regularly your home., So happy vacuuming to you all folks. Oh yes, love your videos ibaisaic. You convinced me to get the DC40... I love it. Thank you.☺☺

Great video Roger, I think hybrid vacuums would be great, maybe like the V10 but with the ability to use it as a mains powered machine with a constant 150Airwatts too, like a detachable cable or as you said in this video a full sized upright like the animal 2 but with the option to use it cordless too. I think the Gtech did well considering it only has a 100 watt motor. Mains powered will always have the edge in performance for now atleast because of their higher wattage motors etc... I love the V6 for quick whip arounds to pick up surface dirt but it's no replacement for the Numatic James or DC40 Animal Erp. I wonder if cyclonic vacuums will someday have the airflow and suction of a bagged machine? Great choice with the animal 2 🙂

Love the Ranger and the Panasonic! Wish I could grab the Panasonic north American version! Another Dyson Phooey!!! I had a V10 and it creeks as well! Needed a degree in differential calculus to repack for return! Still have my old DC14 absolute animal from 2004! My Miele C3 sent The Dysoninto retirement but hey, at least the DC14 doesn’t creek! Thanks Roger! My favorite video since the battle of the Henry’s! Cheers… Keith
@DrummingMan16 жыл бұрын
Wow that is a bit of a shocker! I mean, for the money we pay for Dyson products, you would think that replacement parts under warranty would be genuine! I bought my C3 boxing day last year, the metal tube was a little loose on the handle connection point, called Miele boom seven days later a brand new genuine tube and they did not even ask me to return the original! Highly rated! Good luck Deb cheers… Keith

Looking forward to see how this does. I know you find it boring but I will really miss vacuum of the month. Perhaps do it a few months of the year if any really interesting models come out e.g if you get a V10?

Hi Roger! Love your channel. I'm in USA. I've got two sharks for my hard floors and love the duo clean! I'm looking to switch my carpet cleaning to a bagged vacuum; I'm tired of having such an close relationship with the dirt and hair from my floors!! I know this is the majority now, but I'd just rather change a bag and not see dust flying everywhere every time it's full. I'd love your opinion on which bagged vacuum brand and model you'd recommend for my first bagged vacuum. I have wall to wall carpeting, rugs, and laminate. I use sharks on laminate, should I get an upright or canister? Is a canister as good at deep cleaning? I've seen you recommend Sebo brand. Would you buy a Sebo used? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!! Love your channel. Thanks, Jo Ann

Get what you're saying about cordless vacuums but honestly the Gtech and V10 aren't comparable imo. The Dyson has great agitation for a cordless vacuum and great pickup in my experience, I'm still surprised when I vacuum a relatively clean looking carpet how much ends up in the dirt bin. That being said I am looking at a Dyson Ball Animal 2 because, well I'm a sucker for new vacuums really and my backup corded is a Vax which is just clumsy in design in comparison.

Vax and Hoover USA are part of the same company so they share designs to sell in different countries. It was in fact Vax that designed the Air Cordless.

Dyson's are crap, we've had them and the washing machine, i've seen more at the tip than any other cleaner, i had an idea for a vacuum cleaner, use bags to collect the dust, someone beat me to it. we've got a Miele now, great suck and quite quite, however like other things German, works great then doesn't and you throw it away cos the motor costs as much as the cleaner, i managed to take it apart and make a Frankenstein with another one we had that also stopped working, so far it's doing fine, amazing suck
