Like your previous commentator, I have just unboxed my unit. Delivery was late evening, so I thought I’d leave the instructions till tomorrow. Your video is fantastic!!! I also have the latest Vax upright which I bought late summer and have only used once as I live alone (no pets) but although It has attachments it is too heavy to humph up and down stairs as I am over 70 years of age. I've got the BISSELL SpotClean Pet Pro and it's sooo loud! It also has tiny inlets at either ends of the hose so I have had to take it apart to clear it. I wish there was a vacuum cleaner that combined the crosswave or ifloor with a spot cleaner, like a carpet cleaner but for hardfloors and lightweight.

Great demonstration. We've been recommended to purchase a Vax upright cleaner but we have limited storage space in our bungalow - this model seems to be ideal, especially as we only have a small amount of carpet.

Great demo thanks. Iv been using an upright rugdoctor for 15 years, its been a great machine, but finally died. So time for a new machine. Can you recommend the duo for car interiors? As this is what i mainly use them for. And any particular cleaning solution? And lastly, do you think water temp matters? Is hot as poss better or not? Thanks again. Ian

I have one of these machines the vax spotwash is very good getting those stubborn stains out of your carpets and apolstry I have a child and sometimes she might drop her juice on the couch this little portable machine is absolutely amazing I don't know how I managed without one i would recommend every mom gets one especially with kiddies to mop up those little accidents 😅😅😅

25:00 You soak the entire stain area as a pre-treatment, with the option of adding more later to any stubborn parts. You definitely don't depress the spraying switch throughout, or your carpet would be a mass of foam, and you might even end up with a brown residue due to too much cleaner being left behind in the pile which changes the pH of the water, I believe.

No it doesn’t have that function, but you can just suck up some water from a bowl or sink to help rinse the hose.

It would as long as you don’t over-wet it. I would recommend doing it first thing in the morning if you are planning to sleep on it that night. I’m not sure it would be OK for memory foam though, you would have to check with the mattress manufacturer.

Mine is still OK, but that sort of hose is prone to splitting, especially as it’s so tightly wound around the machine.

You can release the solution while you are sucking up the stain but it’s always best to go over a few times without adding extra solution to remove as much of the dirty water from the carpet as you can.

Well, as it's only for a spot rather than a whole carpet, so one has to ask - does it really matter?! Most of them dry fully after 24 hours. If you're prepared to burn electricity, you could train a couple of fans on it for a few hours. Or for a slower, cheaper method, run a dehumidifier in the room for a bit if you have one or can borrow one.

Would you recommend this over the red vax spot wash. As I liked the self clean feature on that one but like the different attachments on this. Also, I have a wool rug which our old dog had accidents on the last couple of days. I’ve just read not to rub the rug which is what we’ve done, any advice? The stains aren’t coming out entirely, hence looking at the vax. Thanks

​@@jayson11 I bought the blue Vax Spotwash Home Duo (in the video), tried it and sent it back. The cleaner actually looks great, it is very small and has a lot of accessories.. Unfortunately it has very poor suction. It is good enough to clean the surface. But when a cat makes a mess on the couch, the stuff seeps in to deeply. With this device you can't get it out. Just the surface. The second disadvantage is the dirty water tank. It looks as big as the water tank but after a few cm of dirt it is already full and turns the vacuum off. So 80% of the tank is unused. The video is well done, but you don't see how wet the carpet stays..

@@jonpeach5851 There are several differences between the Bissell Spotclean Pro and Vax. It has larger clean and dirty water tanks and a more powerful motor to name two. I still use this Vax but the motor is starting to sound a bit suspect so I have a boxed Bissell to use when the Vax fails.

You are using the wrong cleaning fluid for the Spotwash. That’s why it’s foaming up so much. You will damage the machine and nullify your warranty. There is a solution formulated specifically for the Spotwash.

The stain never came out, even after repeated tries after I finished the video. I still use this machine to try and remove the odd dog accident but normally have to get out my semi commercial Bissell Big Green machine to properly remove the stain and odour. I’m waiting for this one to either blow up or a split in the hose so I can take it to the tip.
