I have quite a few guitars but my main guitar, my number one is an AZ2204. I have four AZ guitars, two Prestige 2204 and two Premium one AZ226 and one AZ242.

I was considering a Suhr but after lots of research I decided that neck stability was the most important thing for me. Tone, feel and stability that’s what I want at a reasonable price = Ibanez prestige.

@@Kraken-o5j thats an extremely hot take i like suhrs thinline teles but i would choose an ibanez az prestige over a suhr any day and also suhrs prices for many of their guitars are just unreasonably high

i'm buying my first ibanez because of word of mouth recommendations. the azs (the s is for telecaster) isn't out yet, but guitar shop convinced be it was worth preordering.

I own 2 AZ prestige guitars and can say the reason I love them so much is that they are vintage sounding guitars (medium to low output pickups) with a traditional or classic aesthetic but with modern playability. I love the flat radius fretboard and neck profile with stainless steel frets and locking tuners. Also the price point, I always wanted a Suhr guitar but couldn't justify spending nearly $5k here in Australia on one, the AZ comes in at $3k ish with more modern features. Love them!
@The_Guitarshop3 жыл бұрын
That sounds great my man! We also love the flat radius fretboard, and the playabillity that comes with it. Of course a Suhr guitar will set you back quite some more, but then they are in a league of their own. But we couldn't agree more on the fact that we love the AZ's!!

How noisey are the Single Coils when over driven?
@The_Guitarshop2 жыл бұрын
Barely! They are not like the Fender Noiseless system of course, but you'd have to push them with quite some hard gain to make them too noisey.

I had a brief obsession with owning an AZ guitar but since the pandemic availability has been really poor. A while back I finally got the chance to play an AZ premium and it was a great guitar. But then I picked up a Charvel dk24 off the rack and it was game over. The Charvel with the roasted maple neck, 2pt trem, and medium output pickups is a direct competitor against the AZ and any other "cheaper Suhr" alternatives on the market. However to me the Charvel outshined the AZ when it came to the pickups and the incredible feeling compound radius neck which is the best neck I've ever played. And the best part? They're still easy to find on the market for anyone in the US. Now I just want to own more Charvels they're so incredibly good and underrated.

The downside is you don’t get stainless steel frets on the dk models, or at least on the ones I’ve played so far
@josephsantana30943 жыл бұрын
@@Philip_McIlvain I own a different guitar with stainless frets and honestly there's hardly any real world difference between those and good quality well finished nickel frets. Stainless frets are great but I don't think they should be a deal breaker on an otherwise incredible guitar.

@@josephsantana3094 What about the longevity? Don't all nickel silver frets get bent and form divots over time?

Great tip. Before I grab an AZ for me, I certainly will try to check out the Charvel in a store, but at least what I could find about it only it sounds to much "fendery" to me, I like the warmer sound of the AZ to be honest. But hey, nothing beats a blind tests for such things to decide which one is for you. Charvels certainly are great, not sure if they are underrated because I did hear a lot good things about them before.
