Im not a beginner and I still pick this bad boy up. My six and it's big brother the GRG7221 7 string. I don't know why people complained. I think it was there setup, gear or even their playing. Cause every guitarist knows despite your gear(don't let anyone lie to you) it all comes down to your playing. Trust me I heard some players manage to make a great guitar with a zillo 2x12, an axe fx sound like complete trash. They destroyed it, and trust me I'd rather listen to trash being dumped at 5:30am over and over again...wait.... And over.... Than to sit through that set played( might I add... That Zillo cab? That was mine, their guitarist only brought the "rack" part, that's what he called it at least and forgot well for stage volume wise? The only most important part of a guitarists rig. Can you name it? It's that box looky thingy in the back. Making all those LOUD NOISES(in some cases...like this night). YEP! You got it... The Cab.... Come on!!! How do you forget that and refer to the rest of your rig as though it's some kind of Lego set missing the directions and the box so you can't use the picture?( Some of you know what I'm talking about. Don't lie, you used the picture trying to match pieces up. I did. Not lie. Back to my story) right before my band went on. Trust me that was tough act to follow. I was surprised the crowd, for the most part stayed. Even the drunk dad in the back dressed like the lost boys of the biker scene. Yea that's right! He stuck it through... For granted he probably was wasted and it all just sounded like a wall of noise coming at him. But don't judge... Im not.... He stayed and had fun. Hell he was every band's #1 fan that night. And we all got pictures with him. He signed my shirt, it was awesome. No back to moral here kids before that long useless knowledge i call a rant happened is.... Do not allow someone to tell you that you only sound good if you have expensive things. That's only a flip side if you can afford these things. But they WILL NOT make you play better or sound better. Just stick TO practice and play what feels good to you. Just do you.

One of the best guitars for begginers/intermediate.Great price & materials. I still use mine between other more expensive models and there's no need to go through Squier/Epiphone or etc. Ibanez offers the best strats for the price and also looks BEAUTIFUL 😍❤

I own a GRG121 which appears to be a nearly identical guitar. The only difference is no center Single Coil and the two Humbuckers are IBZ 6's. However the five-way selector switch as has a single coil position.

I play for 35 years but I never had an Ibanez guitar..even I always wanted.I like many heavy metal bands and songs but when it comes to playing guitar,I am more string bending Les Paul or Stratocaster kind a guy,not Vai/Satriani..Then I bought this Ibanez Grg170dx black,looking really great!At first I was disappointed,sound was ok but playability was poor and after few hours of playing and to many bending efforts my finger tops were just bloody finished!Then I realized I put wrong gauge size strings,to thick(12/62)!I don't know where they came from,I can't remember buying it.After changing to Earnie Ball super slinky 9/42 I was shocked!This is maybe the best guitar in the world for it's price.Many even 3x expensive guitars are not even close!

В этой гитаре применен бридж FAT-10 с нерегулируемыми седлами (седла отлиты разной высоты чтобы соответствовать профилю грифа). Поэтому высоту струн можно регулировать лишь двумя опорными болтами тремоло. Минусы такого решения: 1. нельзя отрегулировать высоту каждой струны индивидуально; 2. одновременно регулируется и ход тремоло и, при сильном опускании струн, тремоло практически ляжет на деку. Плюс - быстрее и проще настройка для новичков. В целом же бридж FAT-10 нахожу довольно удачным - он работает очень мягко и в обе стороны (если не положить его на деку). Не флойд, понятно, но вполне хорош!

I think Just Play what feels comfortable and what looks good for you. You can Play every Style of music on basically every kind of electric guitar. At least thats what i keep seeing other people do. Also there are crazy cheap guitars Out there that are actually quite fun to Play. So dont be swayed by Brands and pricetags.

I personally don’t think anyone thats still looking into this price range has developed a play style and skill that demands a specific style pickups or tremolo or so on... Привет, читаемость от многих факторов зависит. Поменяешь хамбы читаемость увеличится, но так же вылезут косяки деревяхи и железа. Лучше продай и возьми хотя бы в два раза дороже. PS Читаемость можно нарулить грелкой и эквалайзером до основного перегруза.

Does the tone change on the guitar or the speaker?

Simply put, the pickups that convert the 'swing' of the strings into a sound that comes out of the amplifier are selected. If you turn the amplifier off and select different pickups the sound won't change. Hope I got your question right. cheers

Rajeev D Suza i have that guitar and if you put thinner strings like 9 or 10 after 45 minutes of playing it gets out of tune but if you put thicker strings it will get less out of tune

I think the pickups on the ibanez also sound better, go with the guitar which you think sounds better, is more comfortable and is more playable.

comfortable neck doesn't always helps with playing besides that initially depends on your playing style my suggestion is try playing both you know just take it in hand and feel them both because they both are very similar I've played cort and I haven't come across any issues with " not comfortable neck "

I've still got this guitar. Got one when I was 15. I'm now 32 so a good 17 years of owning it. Getting some rust problems etc on the pickups. Every store I've been to though, asked about getting it tuned up and possibly some minor repairs to make it play better but most of them have told me it's not worth it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
