I'm a happy owner of a Q54. Before buying it I was saving money for a Strandberd. But when I had the chance of testing the Q54 I did not have any hesitation and I bought it. I felt in total resonance with it. And it's soooo light (2,2 kg). After nearly two years it's still and always the guitar I play the most of the ones I have.

I hate my QX54 though. The gimmick roasted fretboard with the mistakenly selected inlay colors: all suck in dim light. U cant see anything. Jack location needed to rethink kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZzQf5R4fJeIfrM oh and the overhyped fret material - its color also a sucker!

Hey guys!!! I've ordered my headless guitar at the end of August.... And I got some pics from different steps from cut to assembled for the first time, but it's not ready. Many things to do, but I saw a shape and it's awesome!!!!! The wood is really beautiful! Also it has fan frets... The master is Ruslan Abdullaev. He also makes a bridges for headless guitars. I was considering the Strandberg, but over 2200 for a made in Indonesia guitar with lately lots of QC issues and lower quality than previous years.. it just isn't worth the price. I bought a QX 6 string for basically a third of the price.

Good comparison. I am trying to decide between the two. I need to play that Strandberg neck to be sure, but I don't like the idea of being force into a classical position (see Anton Oparin's video on the subject). Here in the states the Q is about $1k USD and the new ones have SS frets. Hard to justify double the price for what is, at the end of the day, also an Indo build. For around $2k I expect EU, USA or Japan build, full stop.

Thank you! I rarely play classical position and can still get along fine with the Strandberg. Btw, the Boden Essential is also 1k (I've just checked on Sweetwater). I didn't know that the Quests now also have SS! That's cool, but I also like the Evo Gold frets on mine a lot. I think you can't go wrong with either, but it's definitely advisable to try a Strandberg first because the neck profile is unique. Cheers, Lukas

With the new Strandberg Boden Essential for roughly the same price as the Ibanez it is much harder to decide. I already bought Quest because it was cheaper and I love it, but for the same price the Strandberg shape looks more metal and the pickups seem to be slightly higher output.

Hey there. I think you can't go wrong with either one! The Strandberg oem pickups are high output, but I prefer the tones of the Quest. In the the end, it's all subjective. Cheers!

I'm pretty much set on getting the new ebony Q52 model. But I'm still considering. The biggest reason for me to buy a headless is the weight because I have back problems. I've tried a strandberg 7 before and it was incredibly light. Which one is heavier the quest or the strandberg? And is the difference between them big?

Hey there. Since you mentioned you have back problems, I didn't want to guess or go by feel. So it took some time to exactly weigh them (with a luggage scale): My Quest has 2.07 kg (without a strap) and my Strandberg has a weight of 2.13 kg (with a strap that weighs ca. 0.1 kg, impossible to weight it without a strap unfortunately - no headstock, you know lol). So they are almost identical in weight. If you're in the US, they both weigh about 4.5 lbs (between 4.4 and 4.6 lbs). Hope this helps! Cheers, Lukas

i own a Q52 Laser Blue > love it❤it shreds...the pickups are organic & responsive to my picking techniques the neck is slightly thicker like a 70s strat but it is comfortable and after a few hours of playing, u will get used to it the saddle/tuning system is awesome & very stable the gvitar is very light but very resonant...the evo gold frets is smooth for vibrato & bends & it shreds!

@@LMGuitarCorner tried the Strandberg (not sure which model) a couple of months ago cant really adapt to the feel of the gvitar > the neck & the slanted frets feels weird but the gvitar is cool > very innovative

As the owner of both guitar, strandburg bridge is fxcking garbage. Just try adjust the intonation of strandberg. IBANEZ Quest is way reliable. and also easy to adjust. For me there's only one pros with strandberg. Classic guitar play position.

Hi there. I was wondering which Strandberg model you own. One with a fixed bridge or a tremolo? So I guess you're not a huge fan of the endurneck (neck profile, flat radius, multi scale) since you mentioned the classical position as the only pro of the Strandberg. Cheers, Lukas
