This sounds to me, at least as good as [or better than] most Strats and also seems to have lots of extra design features to commend it. I've never come across one in any UK guitar store.

@@wolf-od3zw , sorry, but she chose a color, nothing more. The 1730M was made in Japan, came with a nice case. The YY10 is made in Indonesia and I've seen no information about a case being included. Sadly. So Yvette's guitar is a less expensive to make Ibanez compared to the 1730M, meant to be inexpensive enough to be affordable by fans like yourself. But it looks like that isn't the case. And yes, she is a vibrant, talented and like-able artist. I'm just not sold on the colour.

the yy10 is a signature model that is the only one in production currently. the neck on the yy10 is much better than this older model. unfortunately it is only available in green sparkle. still, a super nice guitar.

I actually had the choice - Ibanez or Music Man - for a long-term endorsement. It took some consideration, I can assure you, because they're both at the top of their game. But in the end I looked at my 50 year-old self in the mirror with a pointy headed Ibanez (I had about 7 of them here at one point) and thought, 'This is a young man's guitar - I look ridiculous'. So I passed on the Ibanez and went with the more traditional Music Man which I was fairly used to thanks to my old Axis. The Talman is a mighty guitar. Very Strat like with a few modern features. The placement of the output jack irked me a little but other than that I couldn't fault it. I'd have been glad to play one and would still be glad to play one. In terms of the build quality, the Japanese do not compromise. Everything about this guitar is as good as the US-built Cutlass. However, there are some differences that would sway me - and did: Stainless steel frets (Cutlass); Silent circuit (Cutlass), side mounted output jack (Cutlass), M6 tuners (Cutlass). And there you have it. Cheers.

Gotoh locking tuners? I Can't abide them and remove them as soon as I can! But each to their own. :) Other than that, nice guitar and demo.

***** I just can't get on with them. Modern PRS tuners work for me as do Sperzel along with any tuners with rear mounted locking knobs. Once strung up and locked the Gotohs do a pretty good job of maintaining tuning stability. It's the restringing process that causes me grief! I had issues of this nature with the old PRS Cam-locking winged tuners.

Kevin - I tried one of these out back last December, and these are a newer style tuner from Gotoh. They work just like a Sperzel with the rear-mounted locking knob. They aren't the old "self-locking" Gotohs that were kind of a pain to use.
