Looks like a finger-style guitarist who just needed more finger space, like I do. Fretless looks to be easier than with a fret for not making a noisy sound for not pushing in the right spot or hard enough.

Go Takigawa Man, in playthrough videos just keep the camera still and framed in a way in which the whole instrument is on screen. Much more enjoyable to watch a performance without the vomit inducing flair of a floating camera lol
