@f.b.jeffers0n first fragment is good, don't get me wrong. But Archspire is on a whole other planet in terms of listenability and technicality. (In my opinion) Archspire has wayyyy more appealing riffs to listen to and are extremely technically proficient to boot. First Fragment is sort of technical and (again in my opinion) has less songs that I am willing to play over and over again past the first or second listen. I still jam every Archspire song I hear and I've been listening to them for almost a decade now.

The song is irrelevant; this dude is an absolute BEAST of a bassist. Hell, he runs through slapping, popping, double slapping for speed, tapping, strumming, two finger and three finger speed picking, all in one riff. His technical mastery is VERY apparent. This dude has skills that he very obviously worked his ass off to master. Incredible musicianship, and this dude is an amazing bassist. Damn.

@officialmetalwill - I 100% doubt he "never" played bass before Archspire. I think you mean his main instrument wasnt bass until he joined Archspire. I mean i learned to kill on bass eventually, but to learn tremelo triplets and quads like that before ever touching a bass is gonna take a couple+ years to master on those thick ass strings. You can def see the dexterity of guitar from the tapping skills......but anyway, musicians that acquire skills this high almost always have other instruments they learn to play over time because of their deep love of music.

But how can you say he is beyond webster and giorgio ? they are much more accomplished, they are among these few bass players that have shaped the metal industry, that have been playing and innovating for more than 30 years... at that point in time, jared is far away from these 2 monsters, and he would say it himself.

he composed it, like wrote it, he came UP with it, and yes, he STILL has a hard time learning it for tours, there's a great 50ish minute documentary about the making of their last album and Jared specefically at one point says "yeah, you can sit and write it, then play it in a studio part by part, but then you have to go play it live" I can't imagine trying to learn it but he's not learning it, he's remembering it...

I agree. I love the instruments but the vocals are bordering on annoying. Before everyone freaks out...im definitely a huge death metal fan and i love metal vocals, clean, gutturals, screeches, howling, and everything else. Just not a fan of that particular vocalist

I started to hear the bass in the second verse of "Involuntary Doppleganger," then it was loud near the end. Sometimes, cover videos (or whatever this is, because it's his song) would have the recording overpower the actual live playing.
