Using flat wounds eliminates quite a bit of finger noise. The lack of finger noise gives his chordal playing a clear mellow sound. Hats off to the great James Jamerson for being noticed for using flat wounds like Bubby using here.

This brother is legit ! No playing Hulu hoops with your bass ,no can’t tell it’s a bass sound? The problem that has happened is none of these are playing on any so called hit songs ? The people that play on hit songs or top bands don’t get the attention that non hit players get? You remember songs not solos for most people, but if you can do all types of tricks then you’re the best? It’s unfortunate that this is the issue now ? James Jameson ,Paul McCarty, Verdine White, Bernard Edwards , Marcus Miller , Sting ,Geddy Lee , and Jaco Pastorius ! Have played on many hit recordings and can do a lot of the things that the show guys do , but they are song makers or help the song. I hope this young man gets with a top notch band and then we could hear his full potential.

@christophegragnic86812 ай бұрын
