Great build. Asa builder we have to do everything precisely. But I could dumb it down a little like you said the pigs don’t care!!

Great video bud. I will be building 1. We have old galvanized feeder that you have drag around . I like that forks can pick these up.

With the agitator/agitaion there is always feed in the bowl. But not too much to encourage wastage/the minimum of loss during actual feeding. Because the bottom outlets do not extend to the pan's sides. And. Because amongst other. A pig can only get its mouth to the feed. Experience makes any man wise!

I have 10 5 plastic square tanks. What would I have to adjust? Just the length of it all or the angle of things would have to be different as well?
@FarmBuilder8 ай бұрын
Just the length

Nice but I am forced to ask: what was the white residue that you left in the IBC?
@FarmBuilder2 жыл бұрын
Potassium.

Heck yea!

just make sure the IBC tote previously held food grade material and nothing toxic.

Where u get non chemical totes
@carfvallrightsreservedwith6649 Жыл бұрын
Don't know why you didn't use tote frame to mark out cutout. No need for straight edge layout.
@billyjarvis273 жыл бұрын
Do these need to be food grade Ibc totes? I have a lot of these around me but they have had chemicals In them. Being they it’s just dry feed and not water, would cutting the top and cleaning the inside really good be enough to not contaminate the feed?
@FarmBuilder3 жыл бұрын
I think that would be fine, it's up to your own comfort. You can also fill with water & soap and let sit for a few days.
@billyjarvis273 жыл бұрын
@@FarmBuilder ya true, didn’t think bout letting it soak

so that "holds the feed", how does it come out ?

I think rainwater will be a problem when it runs off the surface of the plastic container and into the feed trough….but maybe I am missing something
@FarmBuilder3 жыл бұрын
Its not a problem unless it's several inches. Just to reiterate, this is a bulk feeder for large groups of pigs. They eat the feed out quickly. If you build one of these for 2 pigs then water could be an issue.
hi there I'm from South Africa, excellent build ,having problems getting into your link for the building plans, any other way to get hold of them?
@tamaraahola69212 жыл бұрын
Why not put the container on a deck that's on skids and cut holes at the bottom so the feed falls into the deck and you poor feed into the top of the container that you've cut off? This will give you a much larger feeding area. My large hogs would never be able to eat out of the small deck as in this vid.
@FarmBuilder2 жыл бұрын
How big are your pigs? 400 pound ones can eat out of it fine.

Makes a hell of a rodent and varmint feeder to since it doesn't have any lids where feed comes out, I mean Factory hog feeders come with flip-up doors the hog leff's to eat out of so that you're not feeding rats and varmints, not at all good at those young pigs get their front feet in there, this setup should cause a lot of feed waste and lost
@FarmBuilder3 жыл бұрын
This is an open invitation for you to come out to our farm and see them in action. I wouldn't be posting a video (and why I didn't for the 3 years of development) if it didn't work well. I'm not worried about the occasional possum taking a couple bites out on the pasture. Better some pig feed than some chickens. 😉
@tonysmith80593 жыл бұрын
@@FarmBuilder I have no desire to visit your farm and apparently you and I have very different ideas on proper feeding of Our stock, your reply proves my comment varmints in the feed
@FarmBuilder3 жыл бұрын
Lol.. If you have feed on pasture you will have some wildlife take a nibble. I have never seen a feeder that prevents this. We've had full grown black bears eating out of a pride of the farm feeder right along side the pigs. Flipped the lids and everything. An occasional rodent is something I lose zero sleep over.
