Please add more information. It really helps. What are they doing? Why are they all drifting under no power back downstream?
@idahoviking5 жыл бұрын
@@stringermedia5875 The waves are about the same length as the boats, so if they add power on the downstream, the boats and occupants take a severe beating. Better to stay off the gas and roll through the waves.

David Attenborough’s narration: Every year the jet boats begin the difficult journey up the river against impossible currents. Some are not so lucky, but for the ones that do succeed, they will be able to spawn a new generation of jet boats and the cycle will continue. Me: isn’t nature amazing!

The poor blue boater just couldn’t get the hang of it till the end but put up one hell of a fight and won. Cool to see a definite pattern in the wave 🌊 and all way changing every sec so you have to see your own pattern that no one ☝️ else but you can see. That’s a dam good gift to have. Way to go for all who took part in that awesome talent of skilled professional pilots of these boats.👍🏼✅🤩😎

That whitewater is so aerated that the jet is having a hard time "pumping" water for thrust. In whitewater like that a jet boat can loose 60% of it's thrust or power leaving a 300hp boat with just over 100hp effectively. I was helping build an off-grid cabin up river on the rogue river. We had heavy rain for a week and were expecting the river to be up and fast but wow. Just about every trip we made was with a ton of wood and a ton of building supplies. we got into a couple of aerated spots of water and lost most of our thrust and buoyancy, was quite scary.

@Roy-zx9uc5 жыл бұрын
@@Kitchfox there's a shit load of Salmon rivers in New Zealand. Have a search through youtube, you'll find heaps i reckon. One of the best (biased), is close to my old home town, Oamaru; it's the Waitaki River. I've seen some monster salmon jumping out where the fresh meets the salt, getting ready for their run... 30kg plus, and much bigger back when I was in my teens. Maybe it's not as good these days, as with most fishing, who knows.
