Thanks for sharing. I'll be flying to South America on part cash part avios with Iberia next year. I've used them a long time ago and if you speak Spanish, they tend to resolve problems a little bit quicker. Did you get elite/tier points and avios on your flight, which was part cash part avios? Thanks

No points because I paid with Avios, I think it was 50k and about $100 in taxes if I remember correctly.

Hello Im trying to book 2 business seats from the US to Madrid, however I have looked at 10 flights from different airports like JFK, BOS, ORD, and the seat chart only shows window seats as options. The middle 2 seats are not visible at all. Do you have any insight?

Not sure but I would book the window seat anyway! They’re typically A330 or A350 aircraft from what I’ve seen. Happy travels! ✌️

Looks pretty good Jeff and pretty similar to their A350 that I got the opportunity to fly on back in January from Santiago, Chile to Madrid. Though looks like your meals were definitely much more appetising than the ones I got on my flight 😅

Awesome, I really love traveling on the A350 so I was hoping for a swap because they do fly it on that route quite a bit. The food was a great surprise, I feel like catering back from Boston wouldn’t be that good either. Thanks so much for watching & commenting! ✌️

Quick question- you mentioned you booked this flight last minute. When I called Iberia asking about booking with avios, they said they only reserve approx 2 seats a flight for avios redemption and you have to book out like 8-10 months in advance. Do you have a tip to share for your last minute booking?

That’s not entirely true, sometimes they release more seats last minute like within a week or two. I just found 6 seats available Boston-Madrid on March 27th. When using points it’s best to book either within 1-2 weeks or as soon as those dates become available.

Apparently the zips break on the bag almost immediately. I've been hearing it for a year, so you'd think they would do something about it, or find a new supplier.

Great video and thx for the info! My wife & are both United 1K (Star Alliance), and British Airways Gold (One World), so we fly alot for pleasure. We've never flown Iberia Airlines but will in November 2024. I wasn't that thrilled its an A330, but the flights seem to work the best for us. You showed a business class lounge (Madrid)...does Iberia have a first class lounge? I ask because I never eat on a flight, I fly Business/First for comfort and sleep only. I'll eat in the lounge prior to my flight, but prefer a first class lounge since most have a sit down restaurant type atmosphere/ establishment. Again...great video and 👊respect👊 to the both of you!

Thank you for the kind words! I was Continental/UA Gold/Platinum/1K 2010-2023 without missing a year, finally gave up being loyal and spending more points instead. 🤣 Iberia doesn’t do first class, only business like all the US airlines. I think in Europe it’s only BA, AF, Swiss, and Lufthansa that offer first class but let me know if I missed any.

I've noticed that IB's service attitude in J is *much* better for Spanish speakers. (In Y it sucks for everyone). And yes, you missed the bars in the lounge-there's one near where you were, but not open AMs- the other is on the far opposite side and always available.

That makes sense, I always try and at least greet and thank the cabin crew in their language when I can. I think our flight was at 1pm so that’s probably why I didn’t find the bar. Thanks for the great comment! ✌️

Have you seen this? An Iberia Airlines Customer Care Service employee, in all seriousness, insistently asks me to send a photo of my credit card on both sides to pay for something. After I refuse, he hangs up and stops answering questions. There was also a request to "find relatives or friends in England or Europe" so I could buy a seat with extra legroom because my country - Kazakhstan - is "not supported by our system". What is wrong with my country?

There is nothing wrong with your country, their customer service is awful and that sounds like a scam. It took nearly 6 months and many phone calls and emails just to get back $200 for clothes I had to buy (that they promised to pay for) when they lost my bag on their discount airline Level. I would love to visit Kazakhstan some day!

Sadly Iberia's A330's are a bit dated unlike their A350next that they use out of JFK sometimes.

Nah the price is under 2k return booking October November time Madrid to Chicago return in October..

@@Gduniversity13the flight I reviewed is from Madrid to Boston and according to google flights it is currently selling for $6737 one way every day from now until January. A savings of $200 compared to last summer! Of course you can also book it for only 50k avios and about $100 in taxes. ✌
