A very good friend of mine used to play this piece back then when I was at the conservatory. What a delight to ear it many years after!

@@dzordzszs Catalonia is an area in Spain. He is Spanish, but Catalonian is the most accurate answer

@@jorges.garcia9435 If he was from Salamanca, he would be Salmantino. If he was from Ciudad Rodrigo, he would be Mirobrigense. If he is from Catalunya, then he is Catalan. Therefore, I do not understand your objection to the "gentilicio" ( demonym ).

Please check out French pianist Yvonne Loriod's performance of Lavapies in her interview with Bernard Gavoty. It's fiery and her rubato is beautiful. I don't know why but many pianists play it slower.
