@@death_parade but I think the next are the top priority should be to replace the old Insas Rifles with the new modern assault Rifles because it is very very urgent and the next thing that the army is lacking is availability of a combat helicopter of course they have been orders for Apache but the lch must be taken care of

@@thehero2817 Well, I meant that the next logical step for DRDO in arty systems is a self propelled howitzer. As for the Army, yes the rifles are urgent. Currently, SiG 716 rifle has been selected as L1 bidder and price negotiations are ongoing. OFB has also made a 7.62X51 mm battle rifle. And DRDO has developed an excellent carbine: The MSMC. Then there was news of us buying the Ak-103 for soldiers in Counter Insurgency, although I think this purchase is more about geopolitics than military need. All in all, assault rifles is moving forward. Its good to see that the Infantry gear including helmets and bullet proof vests is being purchased. Cherry on top is that the bullet proof jackets currently being purchased are DRDO technology and are level III+. For comparison, US and European Army soldiers get issued level III vests only. Recently, Army released EOI to Indian companies for a modular infantry system with modular bullet proof plate carriers, belt, haversack, hydration pack, etc to replace the WW-II era Integrated Combat Kit that is the standard issue for Infantry currently. There was also an RFP released to global vendors in partnership with Indian companies for Software Defined Radios of all forms, including Infantry. By the time all these contracts are concluded (maybe by 2022-2025), the average Indian Infantry soldier would be equipped to 99% of what a US Army soldier has. Great times ahead.

@@thehero2817 All in all, every building block for a massive upgrade of Indian Arty is currently in place:- Indian made weapons:- ATAGS howitzer (almost completed trails, orders imminent) Dhanush 45 howitzer (order placed) Dhanush 52 howitzer (in trails) Dhanush Mounted Gun System (in trails) Pinaka Mk II MRLS (order placed) Pinaka guided MRLS (order placed) Pralay missile (in development, first test imminent) Brahmos Block III missile (orders placed) Swathi Weapons Locating Radar (orders placed, operational in small numbers) Sharang howitzer (orders placed, operational in small numbers) Nirbhay Cruise missile (awaiting new Manik engine, under troubled development) Arty Command and Control system called Shakti is currently being deployed. Makes Indian Arty Corps completely network centric. Foreign weapons:- M777 howitzers (order placed, operational in small numbers) K-9 Vajra Self Propelled Howitzer (order placed, operational in small numbers) All these weapons will be completely inducted 10 years from now in the ~230 Artillery regiments of Indian Army.

Sir, you forgot to ask the question about the Army's employment of air cavalry concept and integrating attack heptrs with the armoured formations which was tested at the exercises this year. Also about the Army's plans for more LCH, Rudra and Apache, as well as the requirement of Battlefield Support Heptr and the Air Force's -sabotaging- reluctance towards that effort. Does that not hinder the Army from developing more integrated structures for heliborne assault ops? Is that not a capability gap that needs bridging?

He understands more than you think he does. I was perfectly happy with the interviewers style. I could follow the conversation between them beyond the words they said. I could perceive their exchange of ideas. This was a perfect interview in more ways than one. If you could not understand why the interviewer was agreeing with Gen Rawat before Gen Rawat had completed his sentence, its because there is a deficit in your understanding on this subject. Both the interviewer and me were able to cotton on to the idea Gen Rawat was speaking about before he completed his sentence. This interview is 1000 times better than the ones I have seen where main stream media journalists talk to a military person or talk about military topics. Those interviewers are so clueless that its painful to watch. I hope you exercise better judgement about the interviewer's skill in the future.

What are you on about? The 17 Mountain Strike Corps raising is almost complete. 59 Div has been raised and 72 Div is being raised. I suspect raising of an Arty Div, possibly 43 Arty Div, is already afoot. I mean the M777 have begun arriving and Army placed order for Block-III Brahmos regiment as well as new Pinaka regiments. Block III Brahmos had steep dive capability needed for mountain strike roles. Once 17 Corps is raised, work will begin on the second MSC.

President's Rule is a provision from the same constitution and Kashmir's separate constitution accepts it. Now hung assemblies are not president's fault. Moreover, by law itself, President's rule is not forever. Kashmiris from the valley want a separate land just because the place has eventually become muslim majority and like anywhere else in the world, wherever muslims become more than 30%, issues creep in. Social structure gets stressed and peace gets threatened by loudspeakers. Now indviually most muslims are mostly peaceful. But as a mob, they only talk about muslim land wherever they are in the world. Places like kashmir and indonesia turned islamic by force in last 300 years but as is the pattern, they hate the idea of being part of nation with a majority of another religion. This doesn't fly enough. Kashmir is the land of Saraswati and muslim converts can't take it away. If you are hypnotized, doesn't mean you are right. You turned islamic on sword or to come out of pathetic situations of low castes in india. And now wahabism is flowing in the rivers in valley. Kasmiri as a language is not taught and neither is the script used anymore. Just like pakistani punjabis are not writing punjabi in shahmukhi script and rather arabic scripts. Even if most of you have retained your last names in kashmir from your hindu ancestry, you find India as the violator, just like other land of converts called pakistan.
