Have a ripmo and before shorter travel bikes. One thing I found with short travel bikes is if you’re heavier guy like 95kg / 200lbs the shorter travel forks just feel a bit flexy and bottom out. They can’t seem to keep up, even on mellow trails I could feel it.
@awesomemtbtips3 жыл бұрын
Totally understand! But there is a lot of awesome forks out right now that are super stiff! I’m in the same hot I weight about 200lbs! -Mo

Fox Forks can handle up to 250 riders. Use proper sag and just add some tokens…

Did you ever get a chance to ride an XL Exie? Curious as I too am 6’2 and my current bike (140mm trail bike) has a 500mm reach so I’m also concerned about the 519 of the XL.?!

Shaun is great! I heard about them online on Monday. Talked to Shaun on Tuesday and my new Ripmo frame showed up to my door on Thursday. He even threw in some small parts like a BB and headset. They are a class operation for sure! They also have quite a bit in stock right now...

Awesome review. I totally understand your love of the Ripley over the Ripmo. I just got a Ripley AF, and for some reason I'm loving it way more than my Ripmo. It's light and nimble, and it can still shred all my SoCal trails (Telonics and Art School). I love these Ibis bikes!🤙😎👍

Great, a review of another ibis bike that will be impossible to actually ever buy. Was on a waitlist for a ripmo af for 5 months and was told at that point that would likely be another 4-5 at least til i might maybe get one.

@blambmtb61893 жыл бұрын
Ripley isn't all that on flat rolling terrain. Kinda wears you out a little faster. Ibis mentioned this in their description on Pinkbike. Did they fix that with this bike ?

@@GiovaniUrrutia internal rear shock. Faster bike, lighter bike, better builds, twin lock, I can keep on going if you would like.
@GiovaniUrrutia3 жыл бұрын
@@fattie2550 twin lock certainly seems like a plus, but the rest is a combination of debatable and marketing. Enclosing the rear sus isn’t necessarily better, it’s just different. For me, I absolutely love the look and thought that went into integration. Again, the Spark is what I’m looking at, but I’m skeptical that it’s leaps and bounds beyond the Ripley.

In summary if you want an Ibis just buy the Ripley…. But cool bike and nice review. I expect Ibis is going to take what it learns and make an even better 24 lb Ripley. The seat tube angle differences in each size on the Exie, while maybe logical, is going to be confusing to the market imo…. But maybe not since it is going to be so niche … more so than even the s works epic evo… which is the only real competitor to this for capability, weight… and being crazy expensive

I have to be honest. I got one of these Exie bikes, I love it, but I wish it had AXS. The XTR might be great, but I still much prefer the crisp shifts of the AXS system, The dropper is also a total mess. I wish it had the AXS dropper too.

@connorlimburg41883 жыл бұрын
Bike seems cool and fun but i find the conversation around having multiple $5,000 bikes (this one starting at $8,000) pretty absurd and not relatable. Seems the boring equation is most people should buy a Ripley (AF) and if your area has more gnarly things or park interests you then Ripmo (AF). If you are into XC racing then drop $8k on an Exie.

$4500 for the frame alone. Ugh. Otherwise, you don't need to yell. And all that riding footage in the beginning is kind of annoying because it's not technically evaluative, its just emotional response. Just some feedback.
