Back to roots of your early vids which were more tech related...good to have two channels as I enjoy both content...can remember the days when Hannah was too shy to show herself on your Videos...things have evolved quite a bit since then.

I’m local/ native to Denver! I love intense bikes- I ride a carbine! Have yet to take it to floyd! Thanks for the review boss

You nailed it when it comes to Intense VPP linkage design being stiff in the first part of the stroke. When I first got my intense primer it felt like I was riding with locked out suspension but once you get used to it you see the benefits of the stiffness.

If you get your hands on a primer I would love to see a review!

I can’t even pay attention to what you’re saying. All I can think about is how unnecessarily long the seat tube is…
@ginomordocco47103 жыл бұрын
Yep. Couple the seat tube with that horrible paint job too. It’s like the intense designers purposely have been designing their bikes so people WONT buy them for years now.

It's obviously long because many xc riders like to use shorter dropper posts, and these have a minimum insertion depth. I'm surprised you didn't know this. A size L can still fit a 160mm dropper post. If you want longer, buy a trail bike.

Very thorough review! I’m looking at one of these at my LBS that is a frame build up with Factory DOS, but has a lot of cheaper components than come on the Expert built. Would love to hear specifics about the other short travel bikes you’ve ridden that you were comparing it to.

The bike it felt closest too was the Orbea Oiz! The geo felt a little bit more modern though!!

I want to get an Intense bike but they have no place to demo them on Long Island New York. That bike looks like it is fun to ride. Not sure if to get this or Primer and what size fits me.

If you are 5”10 in height would you go with medium or large frame?

Great review! Just wondering if you're going to do any reviews on more of a $2,000 full suspension bike? I'm 56 still riding a hardtail looking to go to a full suspension. And not break the bank

I find your opinion on VPP compared to DW link interesting . I went from a Tallboy/high tower to a Ripley/Ripmo stable. I found the VPP set deep are in the suspension than the DW link. My Tallboy with 120 travel was a good peddler but I found the high tower on blue and flat trails to be a dog.. I am a DW link fanboy for sure
@awesomemtbtips3 жыл бұрын
Dw Link is awesome!!!
@leejohnh223 жыл бұрын
Moe is referring to the more traditional feel of VPP rather than the new lower link style that Santa Cruz has on the whole lineup. To your point, yes the new lower link VPP is very much a linear curve which provides traction for days and great for tech climbs, essentially the opposite of what it used to be.

Weird that you said it feels longer than other XL bikes. 480mm reach on this is basically a L from other companies, even an Exie is 478mm L/519mm XL. Might feel longer while sitting because 73 degree seat angle (though you say you slammed the seat forward so that effectively makes the seated reach smaller). Chain stay looks like 439mm across the board. Looking at the frame weight (5lb 6 oz), it seems to be more on-par with a Ripley than the Exie. Definitely would be able to live with this bike, but probably wouldn't choose it over a Ripley. Now although a different style of bike, the Primer is more of an interesting offer from Intense for me. 150 F/140 R with a decent weight and fairly modern yet not crazy geometry (although might be pushing the seat forward some).
@awesomemtbtips3 жыл бұрын
The geo chart is wrong! We measured it! It’s about a 510 on the XL and the Exie is about the same! On paper geo is always wonky!
@burddog07923 жыл бұрын
@@awesomemtbtips Hmm, 30mm is a bit for their chart to be off. 😄 Still would probably have a Ripley over this (or an Exie if I won the lotto) but that makes it more interesting.

How tall is he? I am 189cm and just bought a size L frame to build. Hope it doesn’t come out too small:S
@josh331722 жыл бұрын
For me personally, that tall seat tube may not be everyone's cup of tea, but its quite striking and rad looking IMO! I'm sure some will feel like it's too long and limits the dropper travel, but man that is cool looking!
@josh33172 Жыл бұрын
@@gypsyHAASy Could you elaborate on your statement and how it's relevant to the long seat tube?
@josh33172 Жыл бұрын
@gypsy547 yeah, except this is a XC bike, less of a factor, and if you're already use to a reg. Post, it really doesn't matter. The dangers you listed are certainly a risk, but not a particularly high risk with competence. In the scenario you mentioned, you're more likely to have a problem based on how the front end responds to the feature than getting hung up on the saddle.

All the Sniper T models have droppers. Large Expert has a 150mm, where the Large Pro has a 170mm higher end dropper. Sorry, those are the only ones I remember since I ride a large and it stood out that the length changed with build.
