I will watch whenever & whatever you upload, even if it’s pushing dirt. Do you have trail cams? Would love some wildlife captures. Maybe you could avoid tilling up the dam grasses with the excavator by using a pitchfork from the boat to harvest the debris. Everything looks great! ❤️💯🐳

Adding my two cents: I recommend that you not worry so much about the floating debris right now as it will help the bio culture develop. It might also provide some natural erosion protection in disrupting wave pressure hitting the dam (until the water level gets to the riprap). Additionally, as you said…that young turf deserves a chance to establish before you put too much machine traffic on it. After it is intact, the tracks will not tear it up like it will right now.

Make you a small rake and put on the front of it out of aluminum preferably.. And rake it all to the shallow end of the lake at the overflow of the little pond this way you can get to it without messing up your grass. Came over months ago from Chris's channel (letsdig18). Instead of a rack at the front of the boat, you can have two out pole riggers on the back of the boat spread out with a float boom between them with multiple hooks to grab the branches as you drive past just like netting for fishes.

The pond is looking better every week. Once your pond fills up it should stay full with it being spring fed along with the runoff it gets. You need to get some of the rain we’ve been getting here in Western Kentucky lately. I’ve gotten 4 1/2 inches of rain over the past week. Your pond would come up a good bit with that much rain and all the runoff.
@BrushCommandoКүн бұрын
It sure would, send it this way 😂
@ronaldheit196Күн бұрын
Use your John boat and a throwing broadcast bait net to clean up that debris along the damn edge. I've seen it done before. Pull a small flat pontoon behind you to throw it on.

I did wonder if the occupants of those houses would complain about the smoke, if it has been going for a week. That said, they probably appreciate the amazing views and how it will continue to improve as the water level increases.
@BrushCommando2 сағат бұрын
Probably had 15 big burns over the past couple years after I cleared the place and they've never complained because they all knew what was coming.. and they love it now! Also, all burns are permitted with the state forestry service, approved by the local fire chief... and just to be nice, I plan them around wind direction.

I suggest two approaches. As long as you are gaining an inch a week, just do a short. Show us the ruler and pan the lake and be done. Do a longer update every 6 or 7 months (or if you get a big rain).

Biweekly, with the option for a short video, if a milestone or something significant happens, like when the feeder pond starts flowing into the main pond, etc.

Ever thought about using the sand to fill in the washboard from the dozer tracks? Spread it on there and smooth it out. The grass grows through it and you get a smooth surface. OH and maybe put in a couple dry hydrants that the FD can use or you can use to pull water out.

Twice a month would be fine unless you get a major storm that changes things quick. My original guess was April or May without some storms, but one good downpour could change it overnight.
