HI Joe If you balances the memory, you should get a little bit better memory performances. Channel 1 : 1*8GB Channel 2 : 1*8GB Channel 3 : 2*4GB same on both CPU's

This vs r710 what's better? Dell has amazing remote management and free firmware updates and that amazing autoscan/update feature along with looking outstanding.. I have 2 apple xserve. 2 apple xserve raids, and 3 cisco usc m250 which i would love to sell for more dell servers and a couple powervaults

"Triple channel" is fastest I believe, definitely for the consumer version of this mainboard chipset (X58). To achieve that on X58 you had to populate all 3 channels, one "rank" at a time and I think you can only use same-size modules. So if that's true for the server chipset, I would try using only 6, 12 or 18 DIMMs in total, and put the first 6 DIIMMs in slots 3/6/9/12/15/18, next 6 in 2/5/8/11/14/17, last 6 in 1/4/7/10/13/16. Possibly reverse the order - 1st set in 1/4/7... on X58 the rule was "populate the furthest DIMM rank from the CPU first" I believe, yet the IBM/Lenovo suggested population order is the reverse of that - slot 3 is closest to the CPU. ...But I don't have enough Crypto-currency-proven ECC RAM to test any of this yet! :P

Hey Unkjoe i have three 3650M3 and i can not connect to the IMM with chrome or firefox only internet explorer works. Can you confirm that? Thank you from Germany...

Hi Horst - I have a x3650 M3 and use Chrome on Fedora 27 to access IMM2 via the IP. I can't use Remote Control though, I can only use IE to do that.* I think Chrome probably warned me about a security exception as usual, but it should partially work in the same way on Windows... *In my case that means I've set up a Windows VM on the server to use IE so I can use full IMM2... which is managing the hypervisor that's running the VM! :S

That’s alright, Morton made me get an IBM X3650 M2. It’s all Morton’s fault 😏

So you have the OS on a mechanical drive and the Hyper-V "machines" on your SSD ?? Which OS are you running, Server 2016 DC ?? Do you just run Server 2016 and then run AD/PDC/DNS/DHCP on a VM ??
@UnkyjoesPlayhouse6 жыл бұрын
Yep, I run server 2016 as a DC-DNS-DHCP-AD server on a standalone box. Thanks for watching.
